In the South of the United States, a dangerous phenomenon is observed: huge pieces of the mantle fall, which provokes an earthquake in the southeastern part of the country.
This part of the United States just recently suffered from strong tremors of unknown origin (almost 6 points), which were recorded near the city of Mineral (Virginia).
Geologists were confused because initially there should be no seismic activity in these places, since they are located on the inner side of the N American Plate. In these places, as a rule, earthquakes do not occur, but now, they suggest that tremors could be triggered by parts of the mantle that broke off the plate and collapsed into the Earth.

After new research, it became known that parts of the mantle in this area are torn apart and sink down. This causes the slab to become more slippery and thus causes tremors.
Scientists concluded that this process will continue in the future. He will be the cause of more and more earthquakes.
