This type of impact on a person is quite rare and is almost not described in the works of poltergeist specialists: I mean a state of inexpressible horror that suddenly grips the victim as if for no reason - for no apparent reason, that once I had to endure when spending the night in a poltergeist apartment - on the night of April 12, 1990.
I had stayed there for the night several times before: my presence calmed the family, although she had to move to another apartment for a while: in the old one the gas taps began to open by themselves. The new housing was equipped with an electric stove.
But noisy spirits are inexhaustible on dirty tricks. On April 11, in the morning, water and fire attacks began at the new location, which ceased only in the evening. I arrived at the “bad” apartment at about 2 pm and decided to stay overnight. All the inhabitants of the apartment - parents with a teenage son, two dogs and me - settled down for the night in one room.
… At the end of the night - it was still dark - I suddenly woke up in a state of extreme horror! It happened suddenly, without any transition, without any gradualness. My head, resting on the pillow, bounced softly on my hair standing on end.
The whole body was covered with goose bumps. I was literally drenched in a sticky cold sweat, I was just pounding from some kind of irrepressible trembling, my teeth knocked out a frequent beat. The pounding was not from chills - from horror. The first impulse is to wake up the owner. But I was immediately ashamed: he had enough of his own fears! He had so much hope for me …
With the edge of consciousness, not clouded by horror, I grasp that nothing unusual is happening anymore: sleeping people are breathing regularly, dogs are quietly snoring on the floor, the room is bright from a street lamp. In a word, there is nothing terrible outside, only in me! While I overcame the desire to wake up the head of the family, everything vanished as if by hand. This went on for several minutes, but they will never be forgotten.
I didn’t tell any of the family members about what I experienced with them that night, but I immediately shared it with my colleague A. K. Priima. Alexei Konstantinovich confessed in response that he had experienced something similar a few days ago at the old apartment abandoned by the owners, trying to take away the evil spirits from there. At the moment when he was putting a deck of cards under the sofa for this purpose, an almost unbearable wave of cold horror passed down his spine, and he was literally pushed out of the apartment! Even then I noticed how his face changed.

On July 9, 1990, I was summoned to another "bad" apartment. Arriving, I found her mistress noticeably depressed and heard the story of all the continuing oddities: when she was left alone in the apartment around noon, she was "rushed". Here's what she said:
“Left alone, I went to the bathroom. And here, in the bathroom, I was seized first by fear, and then by wild horror: first, goose bumps ran through my body, then chills began to beat, and then teeth chattered. I ran out of the bathroom at 12 hours 10 minutes (in a hurry for ten minutes) and rushed about the apartment. But there was no one anywhere. And nothing - too. Everything is quiet. And I am pounding with horror, only that my hair does not stand on end! Never before had I experienced anything like it.
I rushed to the phone and called Priyma. Fortunately, he was at home. He advised to put all watches in polyethylene and to live without them for at least a week. And then, feeling my panic, he advised me to immediately leave the house for five or six hours. Whether in the cinema or in the park, in a word, people. He said that in the evening he would be with Vinokurov.
I was about to leave. And then the door opens and the son appears. How happy I was! He saw me and asked: "What are your eyes like that?" Explained to him, but at the very teeth does not fall. My son walked through all the rooms, did not feel any discomfort, but quickly left the apartment with me.
I ran to work, went shopping, found a cinema, got a ticket. And only by the end of the film, somewhere around 3:30 pm, I felt better, I started to let go … But my arms and legs were still weak, like cotton. This fear was akin to a strong shock."
I managed to talk with her son, a laconic and serious young man, a master of sports. He said that when he returned home at noon, he found this picture: his mother stood in the hallway, holding the hem of her dress in her pounding jaws, with whitish eyes round with horror.
I asked if something similar had been rolling over him. After a pause, he admitted that yes, there were several times, but he drove it away with a great effort of will. Therefore, I was very worried about a similar experience of my mother.
The induced horror was also reported by foreign researchers of the phenomenon, for example, M. Persinger from the laboratory of neurosciences of the psychology department of the University of St. Lawrence and R. Cameron from the geophysical laboratory of the geological faculty of the same university. Persinger has long been widely known for his work on the study of the relationship between a wide variety of anomalous phenomena with geophysical and cosmic factors.
Researchers have attempted to objectively record the possible physical causes of a series of poltergeist-like manifestations. These phenomena (strange lights, ghosts, unusual sounds, human voices, etc.) usually occurred at night in a separate apartment occupied by two young women who were extremely frightened by all this.
It all started in September 1975, a few days after the move. On November 8 of the same year, one of the women could not stand it and moved out of this restless apartment. With the permission of her remaining companion, the researchers installed a set of devices in the apartment.
For fifteen nights in a row, the entire complex worked from half past eleven in the evening until half past nine in the morning. One day, about half past midnight on November 27, the pen of the recorder connected to the electromagnetic radiation sensors suddenly came into heavy motion.
A powerful signal lasting about ten seconds was recorded. The pen wrote so violently that ink splattered! Almost immediately after this burst of activity, the woman who had spent the night in the apartment woke up and immediately left her.
Returning only towards morning, she said that then she was suddenly seized by a strong attack of fear and a desire to immediately leave the apartment, which she immediately did. The readings of the corresponding sensors objectively confirmed the veracity of the woman's story.
The famous American parapsychologist X. Carrington experienced a state of induced terror in a restless house fifty miles from New York on the night of August 13, 1937. Together with him, his wife experienced the same.
They arrived there, accompanied by the former tenant of the house, who had brought his dog, and four outside observers. Carrington and others began to search the house for possible pranksters, rats, mice, cats, and other things that might distort observations, but found nothing in the basement or on the ground floor. When they climbed to the second, they were "rolled". Here's how Carrington describes what happened:
“Suddenly I felt a powerful blow to the solar plexus, sweat appeared on my forehead, my head was spinning, the air became a lump in my throat. It was a completely unusual, clearly physiological sensation that I had never experienced. Horror and panic overtook me. I could hardly refrain from flying down like a bird, and only repeated aloud: “This is monstrous! This is monstrous!"
The wife, who was standing in the back, took two or three steps forward and exclaimed: "Oh, what wonderful little rooms!" The next moment with a cry “No! No!" she literally flew down."
After about an hour, the researchers went up to the second floor again, but everything was different there. Feelings and sensations suggested that there was nothing to fear. Even the dog, which for the first time refused to go upstairs, calmly walked along with everyone. The owner of the house later explained that a suicide had once occurred in one of the "wonderful little rooms" …
Sometimes journalists are also told to experience the horror associated with the poltergeist. For one of them, who stayed in 1990 to spend the night in the then famous poltergeist house of the Chaprazov family, this night became one of the most powerful experiences in his life in the form of a sudden indescribable horror. It looks like the same that I experienced.
In a poltergeist apartment, people are sometimes overwhelmed by an equally unpleasant sensation of someone else's presence - all the time it seems that someone is nearby, someone alien, invisible, terrible …
