The unique well-preserved remains of the Alpine man Otzi have interested many scientists. They studied his body for a long time, trying to find out exactly how he lived.
Otzi's mummy was found back in 1991 in the Alps. Scientists initially thought they had found the body of a recently frozen climber. And only after studying, they realized that this is not at all the case, that this man lived about 5,000 years ago.
Most likely, Otzi died of his wounds as a result of an intra-tribal conflict. With him, his weapon was also found - a copper ax.
However, the main mystery that worried the experts is his homeland. The research results showed that his father was from the Tyrrhenian coast and his mother was from the Alps. Otzi himself could well have migrated. Scientists began to look for his relatives or friends.
On the shores of Lake Zug, Switzerland, they found a replica of Otzi's copper ax. At the same time, it was found that both the one and the second ax were made from the same copper, which was mined in Tuscany. Thus, scientists managed to narrow the search for the homeland of Otzi - it could be Switzerland, Liguria or the regions of the Alps.
