When two Americans, Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker, told the world that in 1973, while fishing on the Pascagula River in Mississippi, they were abducted by aliens, few believed them. And now, after 28 years, it turned out that not only they were participants in the strange events that occurred that night of October 11.

A retired naval officer recently contacted The Mississippi Press and said that he could never forget. Mike Cataldo of Rotunda West said he was part of the USS Tunney launch team that day at the Ingalls shipyard on the Pascagula River.

It was dusk as he and his crewmates, Ted Peralta and Mc Hannah, were returning along Route 90 to Ocean Springs. Ted was driving, Mack was in the front passenger seat, and Mike was in the back.

“We saw on the horizon a very strange object that was moving at high speed from the northwest and crossed Highway 90. Then it descended to a swampy forest area and hovered over the line of trees. We even drove off the road. I remember how we repeated: "My God, what is this?" Mike said.

"This UFO looked like a big tambourine with small flashing lights," continued Cataldo. "We watched it for about a minute, and then it just disappeared."

Back home, overly agitated Mike told his wife about what had happened. The next morning, he reported to the captain of his submarine, and then contacted Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi with his phone number.

“My captain and crew thought we were just nuts,” Mike said. “We never saw this object again. It was a very strange thing and it was scary."

Mike Cataldo retired from the Navy 19 years ago. He was last in Jackson County in 1974 and claims that he never met or spoke to either Hickson or Parker.

Recall that 28-year-old Charles Hickson and 19-year-old Calvin Parker reported to the police that they were on board a brightly lit oval spacecraft, where, in addition to them, there were three pale, ghost-like one and a half meter creatures with crab-like claws and crooked legs.

“They were like robots, I couldn't see their eyes, they had no signs of breathing, and instead of a mouth, there was a straight slit. They looked at me in such a way that I felt that they knew everything about me,”Hickson wrote a book about their abduction, met with scientists on several occasions and organized seminars on contacts with extraterrestrial intelligence.

Charles, now 70, never changed his testimony about what happened on the Pascagula River, even under hypnosis. He is still sure that other people have seen the spaceship, but not everyone dares to tell about it.
