However, there are also such pictures, after viewing which an unpleasant aftertaste remains. Some are even inclined to argue that clear negative energy emanates from them.
1. "Hands Resist Him" by Bill Stoneham

The work of American surrealist artist Bill Stoneham "Hands Resist Him" became a highly resonant picture. The artist painted the picture in 1972. He took as a basis his childhood photograph, where, as a little boy, he stood at the house with his sister. In the Stoneham painting, there is a boy, and a yard away is a doll the size of a girl. Children’s handles are pressed behind the door in the background.

First, the picture went to an American art critic, then to an actor, and then got lost. The picture was accidentally found by a young family and hung in the child's bedroom. On the very first night, the girl ran to her parents' bedroom, shouting that "the children in the picture are fighting." A couple of nights later, the father installed a camera with a motion sensor in the child's room. During the night, the camera was triggered 4 times. They hastened to get rid of the picture. A few years later, at auctions where the painting was exhibited, many complained that after viewing it, they felt bad.
The author himself described "Hands Resist Him" as follows: the door separates the world of dreams and reality, the doll is a guide to the world of dreams. Hands behind the door - alternative lives or opportunities.
2. "Crying Boy" by Giovanni Bragolin

Painting by the Italian artist Giovanni Bragolin "Crying Boy" has a very bad reputation. It is believed that the master painted a portrait of his son. But on request, the child could not cry, so the father periodically lit matches in his face. The child was afraid of fire more than anything else. Of course, the boy's psyche was disturbed, and he allegedly shouted out the words: "Burn you, yourself!"
In the 1960s and 70s, a reproduction of The Crying Boy was very popular among the working class in Great Britain. A total of 50,000 reproductions were sold across the country.
The painting became infamous in 1985 after the publication in the newspaper "Sun" of an article by a woman who claimed that after a severe fire in her house, only a cheap reproduction of "Crying Boy" survived. Then several more similar testimonies emerged. The excitement around the "damned" picture grew with the speed of a snowball. The newspaper, in its struggle for readers, only fanned the sensation. Finally, the fire department issued a statement that the painting was not to blame for the fires. The fact that it does not burn can be explained by the high density of the paper, and given the huge number of portraits sold, it is not surprising that some of them ended up in houses where fires took place.

The painting "Rain Woman", painted by the artist Svetlana Taurus in 1996, also inspires some dislike for those who accidentally see her. The canvas was bought three times and returned to the artist the same number of times. Svetlana herself said that she drew the basis of the picture in just 5 hours, as if someone was moving her hand.
The first customer hung the Rain Woman in her bedroom, but two weeks later called the artist back with a request to pick up the canvas. Say, she has a feeling of the presence of someone else in the apartment. The next buyer was faced with the fact that he dreamed of the woman in the picture, depriving him of peace. The man returned the canvas and did not even take the money back. The third client, having learned about the notoriety of the picture, considered himself a person not superstitious and acquired it. At first everything was fine, but the man was haunted by the woman's white eyes, headaches and insomnia appeared. In general, now "Rain Woman" is with her creator.
4. "Adoration of the Magi", Pieter Bruegel the Elder

The Dutch artist Pieter Bruegel spent two years creating the painting "Adoration of the Magi". He painted the Virgin Mary from his cousin. Unfortunately, the cousin was barren, for which she was often beaten by her husband. It is believed that the sterility of the "Virgin Mary" influenced the painting, and everyone who bought it did not have children for 10-12 years.
