The Sibun Caves are a network of natural underground tunnels located by the river of the same name and considered one of the entrances to the other world. This theory is based on the sacred text of the Indian people Quiche "Popol-Vuh". He brought to our days the legend of Xibalba - the afterlife, the path to which is open only to spirits. The entrance to the kingdom of the dead is hidden by dark caves and a river filled with blood and scorpions.

Some archaeological finds indicate that one of the entrances to Xibalba was called by the Indian tribes the caves, now known as the Sibun caves. This place is not very popular, but sometimes travelers come here to see "hell" with their own eyes.

For all the known time of the existence of the Sibun caves, only one mysterious case occurred here - an old Buddhist monk entered and did not come out, who was accidentally remembered by tourists who set up a camp near the “entrance to the underworld” and conducted amateur photography there.

A few hours later, the young adventurers remembered the monk and began to worry that the elderly man might get lost or get hurt. Rescuers who arrived at the scene did not find any trace of the Buddhist. The strangeness of what happened is that the cave has no other exits and all of its branches sooner or later end in dead ends.
