Life outside the Earth could have arisen, but most likely, it disappeared too quickly
Experts from the Australian National University have proposed their own solution to the Fermi paradox. It lies in the fact that, on the one hand, in the vast Universe, life, in all likelihood, should have originated not only on Earth, but on the other, if this happened, it is strange that representatives of ancient alien civilizations have not yet occupied all comfortable planets our galaxy.
Unfortunately for those hoping to meet aliens, the new explanation implies that extraterrestrial civilizations may not exist after all. However, this does not mean that life did not originate anywhere else - perhaps the planets simply changed too quickly so that this life did not have time to "gain a foothold."
The nearest space neighbors, Venus and Mars, cannot tell about the possible fate of planets, potentially suitable for life, but less fortunate than Earth. They, like the Earth, are in a potentially habitable zone, and four billion years ago, life on them could appear in the same way as on Earth. However, in the future, Mars became a cold, waterless desert, and Venus is a hot ball surrounded by clouds of sulfuric acid. At the same time, the emergence of life in itself would not save any of these planets.
On Earth, a comfortable climate is ensured due to the fact that living organisms themselves participate in this process, which have managed to develop and spread sufficiently for this in a short time. It was microorganisms that managed to create the greenhouse effect, which later allowed life to flourish.
Scientists believe that life could indeed originate on many planets in different parts of the Universe, but all of them later suffered the fate of Venus or Mars. Thus, scientists assume that future conquerors of space will likely find traces of extraterrestrial life in other planetary systems, but these will not be the ruins of buildings and not the skeletons of humanoids or reptiles, but only the remains of single-celled organisms that did not have time to evolve.
