NASA Imaging Master Sean Doran has combined images from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter to create something incredible - a 100-megapixel photo of the Moon, which he posted on his "space" Flickr page.

One LRO WAC image has a resolution of 100 meters per pixel and covers about 60 km of the lunar surface. The images were taken from a vertical angle, so to get the shape of the moon globe, Doran had to plot them on the sphere using the altimeter data.
