The Jonasthal Valley, located in Thuringia, has always been considered one of the most mystical places in Germany. In the Middle Ages, she gave refuge to magicians who were subjected to church persecution.
During the Second World War, here - in hidden underground laboratories - under the supervision of the SS men, scientists worked, creating superweapons for the Third Reich: from the new generation of Fau missiles to stealth technologies (visibility reduction).
However, few people know that here, at the Ordurf underground training ground, a "post-nuclear weapon" - Radgum was created by Hitler's order. It, named after the mysterious substance of the same name, a few kilograms of which is supposedly enough to destroy the entire planet, and has attracted the attention of no less mysterious researchers to Yonasthal today. There are only rumors in Thuringia about those who literally "dig their nose in the earth" here. One thing is certain: the mysterious researchers are not citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany.
When some do not know and others cannot

Literally at the very end of the war, American intelligence received a message from its "mole" in the bowels of the Ordurf research center that "SS Obergruppenfuehrer Dr. Hans Kammler ordered to accelerate work on the Radgum weapon, a few kilograms of which can turn whole continents to dust."

Judging by the current data, this message cost the anonymous physicist-anti-fascist life, and in those days special groups under the patronage of the OSS (US Army Intelligence) staged a real hunt for Kammler, who oversaw all the work on "superweapons" in the Reich. This hunt gave, in the literal sense of the word, redundant results.
The scouts, who did not know that a high-ranking SS man had acquired a whole brigade of doubles back in 1943, first caught one Kammler, then another, a third … Naturally, none of them could reveal the secret of the mysterious Radgum.
When, in 1949, the SSR arrested the real Kammler, who was hiding in a zone occupied by the Western Allies, the days of his counterparts were numbered. The portrait of one of them, who "committed suicide" in May 1945, soon went around all world publications. And the "father of Hitler's superweapon" himself was secretly taken to the United States. The papers found with him later helped the Americans create many of the latest types of weapons, including "knapsack".
However, the main secret - the mysterious Radgum superweapon - Herr Kammler was able to describe to the new owners only in words. The SS man explained that all the documentation for Radgum, as well as an experimental working (!) Sample, were hidden by his order in the secret adits of Ordurf. The Americans had to grab their heads: Thuringia had already become part of the GDR by that time.
Actually, this is how a paradoxical situation arose when the Soviets, like the United States, which were hunting for the top-secret developments of Hitler's scientists, did not know that they were literally "trampling on" the treasury of scientific thought of the Third Reich, and the Americans, who knew about it, had no opportunity to extract it from -under the ground.
Of course, overseas special services tried to gain access to the "weapon of the apocalypse" in the past as well. However, it seems that they - secretly from the entire world community - will succeed only now.
A mystery for all time

In the 1950s, in the area of the Ordurf research center, the earth settled due to floods and other natural disasters. Apparently, local pioneers, who are now referred to in West Germany as the "East German group of Dyatlov", opened secret entrances to Hitler's "treasury of the apocalypse": a group of young tourists died here under mysterious circumstances. The Stasi (the GDR secret service) took this "bad place" under increased protection. However, for unknown reasons, the East Germans did not want to penetrate the SS underground laboratory. Or they couldn't.
In the 1980s, a high-ranking East German official (according to other sources - a mining engineer), who was "feeding" the CIA, was able to transfer to his owners land samples taken near Ordurf, as well as video from the landslide sites. Both the name of this "mole" and its further fate are unknown. Here's another striking fact: all the documentation relating to the "Radgum superweapon forge" is classified in the United States until 2049. Even the FRG government does not have access to it now.
In 2005, an eminent Berlin historian, Dr. Rainer Karlsch, undertook his own investigation, tracked down OSS officers who had once worked with "Radgum's father," Hans Kammler, and risked publishing a study on the mysteries of the Jonasthal Valley. Literally in a few months after that, his reputation in the scientific world was destroyed: the media portrayed the brave researcher as a "charlatan", after which he drank himself and - as official data say - committed suicide in a state of delirium tremens.
And were the local secrets worth their lives? What if this incomprehensible apocalyptic Radgum is really nothing more than a myth?

At the end of 2013, several German scientists, who consider themselves followers of Dr. Karlsch, secured the support of sponsors, purchased drilling equipment and tried to get permission from the Thuringian authorities to work in Jonastal. A logical refusal followed: the entire local area was included in the "zone of protection for obtaining drinking water" - therefore, any excavations are strictly prohibited.
End of 2014. The whole of Yonastal with the surroundings adjacent to Ordurf and the village of Gossel is cordoned off by "green men" from a private security company registered outside the Federal Republic of Germany. Drilling equipment is being driven here. According to local residents, the mysterious researchers, who, unlike their German colleagues, were able to obtain the right to drill, speak German with a nightmarish accent. The work itself is already being carried out in full force - until the stage of launching special sonic probes into the wells already developed, allowing to determine the exact location of the voids underground.
How does the German and world press react to all these oddities? Silences what is happening? Not at all. Newspapers, magazines, TV programs, Internet forums are overflowing with dozens of "obvious" versions. One of them: the Americans, having enlisted the support of the German authorities, are looking for … the Amber Room in Yonastal. Note: there is still not a single historical document that even hints that the Nazis tried to hide the Amber Room here.
Another version: the search work in the immediate vicinity of the top-secret Nazi research center Ordurf is being carried out by the Israelis - they are allegedly looking for documentation about concentration camp prisoners buried by the Nazis underground. Again, we note: there is no written or oral evidence in favor of this hypothesis. And besides, if it were so, German journalists would already have taken numerous interviews from Israelis. And here - some do not even try to do it, others ("Israelis") - do not disclose either their citizenship or names.
Of course, the reputable German press ridicules the speculation about the Amber Room and the documents about Nazi prisoners. And he offers his … no less apocryphal guess. Here in Yonastal, typical fracking operations are allegedly being carried out - hydraulic fracturing operations for shale gas production.
However, here's the bad luck: thanks to the fact that several photos from the site of the mysterious work became public, experts were able to conclude that more powerful drilling rigs are needed for fracking. And those that are involved in Yonastal, "hit" 100-200 meters underground. Just to the depth at which, according to the documents, the top-secret scientific center "under the wing" of the SS was located.
So what is hidden in the depths of one of the most mystical lands in Germany? Who is trying to get their hands on the documentation of the mysterious Radgum superweapon today, or even its experimental prototype? Considering the importance for all mankind of at least the second question, the editorial staff of "Secrets" promises readers to follow the events. And the first to inform you about them.
