Merged "Siamese" twins Ganda and Jamuna Mondal (Ganga and Jamuna Mondal) perform in the circus under the name "Spider Sisters"
They are 39 years old. They have two arms, two heads, three legs for two (one of which is underdeveloped) and are one of the rarest varieties of "Siamese twins" who have not even had a chance to die in infancy.
In India, they perform in a circus for 5 hours a day and a large number of curious come to each performance, but they pay little and money to feed themselves and their families only need two weeks. However, the sisters are not discouraged.
“People come to look at us because we are unusual. They are interested in us”.
The sisters hug each other - "God made us so and we are happy no matter what."
The sisters were born in West Bengal and two midwives fainted at the sight of the spliced children. Doctors who studied them found that girls are connected in the pelvic region, and above they develop as separate people with their own set of organs. Each girl can only control one leg. (very similar to the case of our Zita and Gita - translator's note.)
The third leg is underdeveloped and consists of two legs spliced together, as a result of which there are 9 fingers on the third leg. In childhood, they did not separate the sisters, fearing that it would be too difficult for them and they would not survive after it.
The world learned about these amazing twins quite recently, and yesterday, on October 24, a documentary about them was shown on the Discovery Channel in the United States.
