1. Diets are more effective than physical education

Recently, more and more people say that diets are much more effective than sports. However, physical activity does have a positive effect on metabolic processes and helps burn excess calories, which allows you to regulate weight. As for diets, then any of them is always based on limiting the amount of some nutrients that the body may need. So the diet can even be harmful! Plus, it only works as long as we stick to it. And it is worth "letting go of the bit" and the excess weight returns. It's better to eat whatever you want, but do not forget to exercise regularly!

2. Bronchitis is a complication after the flu

It is generally accepted that bronchitis occurs as a complication after viral diseases - influenza or ARVI. However, not only viruses can cause bronchitis, but also pathogenic bacteria that have entered our body in various ways. For many people, this disease is also a reaction to environmental pollution - they cannot tolerate dust, tobacco smoke, exhaust gases, etc. True, in these cases, bronchitis is often confused with asthma or allergies.

3. The child should not be sick

In fact, children are supposed to get sick! Another thing is that childhood infectious diseases are relatively easy, and as a result, the child develops immunity to the causative agent of the disease.

Some prudent mothers even specifically allow their children to play with sick children, so that they get infected from them and sooner get sick with mumps or chickenpox. Of course, this is already superfluous, but it is also not worth worrying about the fact that the child fell ill with an ordinary childhood illness: it is better to get sick while he is small, since adults tolerate measles or scarlet fever much harder than babies.

4. Breathing deeply is beneficial

For some reason, we are convinced that deep breaths make us stronger and more alert. We usually take a deep breath before deciding on an important act, or if we regret something, if something hurts us emotionally … At the same time, we do not even suspect that in this way we actually disrupt the circulation of oxygen in the body: after all, deep inhalation, as a rule, is followed by a sharp exhalation! Therefore, even in a state of severe stress, it is recommended to breathe evenly and calmly.

5. It is necessary to eat meat, as it contains iron

It is believed that if you do not eat meat, then the body will become deficient in iron, and this will lead to anemia.

Meat does contain iron, but it is also found in other foods: liver and kidneys, chicken eggs, buckwheat, beans, peas, oatmeal, parsley, potatoes, onions, pumpkin, beets, apples, pears, peaches, pomegranates, dried fruits … Include them in your diet - and you will fill the need for iron!

6. Chewing gum with xylitol or carbamide is healthier than regular gum

An ad that calls for chewing xylitol gum promises to keep our teeth from decaying. In fact, gum can remove plaque from tooth enamel if it is sugar-free. So manufacturers use a substitute - xylitol. By itself, it does not possess any medicinal properties.

If you believe the same ad, carbamide, which is also included in the gum instead of sugar, is simply indispensable for restoring the acid-base balance. But carbamide is nothing more than synthetic urea. The latter is indeed capable of neutralizing acid, but to restore the acid-base balance in the oral cavity, according to dentists, it is not at all necessary to chew gum with carbamide. It is much more economical to take and rinse your mouth with warm water.
