In the bowels of the Pentagon's computer network there are not only plans for all kinds of real emergencies, but also a program to counter the "zombie apocalypse". This is reported by Foreign Policy, referring to a real document of the American military without the "secret" stamp - a guide to isolating and destroying a variety of zombies, including carnivorous chickens, reborn after carbon monoxide poisoning.
The document, dated April 30, 2011, talks about protecting people from threats posed by a horde of zombies. The military emphasizes that they will be ready to conduct operations in support of any people, including traditional opponents, fighting for the "sacredness of human life." The document also contains advice on how to help civilian authorities maintain law and order and restore basic life support services during and after the attack of the living dead.
The text of the document lists various types of zombies from which it will be necessary to protect living people. These are "herbivorous zombies" - the living dead who adhere to a vegetarian lifestyle and are generally not dangerous to humans; space zombies - brought to the ground from the depths of the universe; "Evil magic zombies" - created with the help of occult magic; zombies deliberately created by scientists following the example of Frankenstein; people who have turned into zombies due to the virus; and, finally, "chicken zombies". These are old chickens destroyed by farmers and can no longer lay eggs. They are killed with carbon monoxide, but they "get out of the grave, making their way with their paws." The document claims that the existence of this phenomenon has actually been proven.
The text emphasizes that this plan is not a joke at all. According to the newspaper, the document is a plan of exercises aimed at protecting civilians from any attack. According to the authors of the document, they realized that if society mistakenly considers the fictional scenario of the exercises to be a real plan, it will cause negative political consequences. Therefore, they preferred not fictional scenarios of the struggle with real-life states, but an "absolutely impossible scenario."
At the same time, in terms of its terminology, the plan resembles the structure of the campaign against the insurgents, notes Foreign Policy: "containment", "interception of the initiative", "domination", "stabilization", and in the end - "restoration of civilian power."
Note that residents of the United Kingdom can also sleep peacefully, without fear of dire consequences from the attack of the living dead. The country's Ministry of Defense previously noted that the military is ready to protect the people in the event of such an emergency situation.
