In the modern world, there is hardly a person who has not heard anything about zombies - those who rose from the grave of the dead and unquestioningly obey their master. This phenomenon still exists in West and South-West Africa.

The inhabitants of these areas say that all zombies can be divided into two groups: neo-li (resurrected dead) and the zombie itself (a living person whose mind and feelings were taken away with the help of magic spells).

From one of the African dialects, neo-li is translated as "living corpse", or "manifested." Residents of Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Ghana firmly believe in the real existence of zombies. Europeans traveling across Africa have more than once brought to their native continent many breathtaking stories about the dead walking around the city and often killing people.

What is neo-li? With one voice, Africans talk about how a man who had recently been put in a coffin and buried in the ground to a depth of more than two meters, a few days later reappeared in the village, accompanying his master. At the same time, by only one appearance, it is impossible to determine a dead person in him: he moves, fulfills the orders of the master and can even talk.

The thought that this creature is not of this world is suggested only by a deaf, low, uterine voice, slow speech and unblinking glass eyes. Although eyewitnesses claim that talented magicians are able to create, or rather, bring to life a neo-li, which can move, talk, and blink his eyes.

The zombie phenomenon is closely related to the African cult of Voodoo and fetishism. For the first time the word "fetish" began to be used on the African continent in the XII-XIII centuries. And Portuguese travelers who visited Africa for commercial purposes brought it with them. Then this word meant everything that could not be perceived by ordinary consciousness. In simple terms, everything supernatural has been defined and continues to be called a fetish.

The latter has tremendous energy and power over people. At the behest of the caster, he can change the world around him and even people in a matter of seconds. It can be used to reward a friend and severely punish an enemy.

In the culture and everyday life of Africans, fetish occupies a significant place. A variety of objects can act as such: homemade dolls, tattoo signs, various parts of the body of animals. They are all endowed with supernatural and magical powers. The one who owns the fetish is able to control it and with the help of its energy to do good or evil.

Africans claim that fetishes have many uses. They can help you recover, protect yourself from the evil eye or evil spirits, protect you from assassins, thieves and fires. With their help, you can control the forces of nature. The priests, wielding the power of the fetish, more than once helped the inhabitants of their settlement to get rid of the rains that flooded the crops, or from the heat and scorching sunlight.

Such priests are even capable of bringing the deceased back to life for a while and making him serve him. Such fetishes, affecting the human spirit, are considered the most powerful in Africa. Not every priest is capable of owning and managing them. They keep their secrets of the ability to raise people from the dead in the strictest confidence.

Some African inhabitants still managed to lift the veil of the mystery of zombies. It is said that the Voodoo priest first accumulates energy by putting it into a vessel. Then, after the accumulation of a sufficiently large concentration of energy, he opens the cork of the vessel and, unnoticed by others, brings it to the nose of a recently deceased person. It is believed that the energy (new spirit) must enter the body of the deceased through the nose.

After that, the body of the deceased is placed in a coffin and buried in the ground. One dark night, having received a signal from a priest, a dead man with great strength will open the lid of the coffin, dig up the ground and go outside. At the same signal from the priest, the zombie will carry out all commands, regardless of what they bring to the world: good or evil. Neo-li is just a machine in the flesh, incapable of thinking and feeling.

The inhabitants of Africa say that most often the priests use zombies for the implementation of not at all righteous goals. They set up their charges for theft, destruction and even murder. Such neo-li can also plow the land, sow seeds and harvest. In a word, they are irreplaceable helpers in the garden.

They say that zombies need to be fed with water and unsalted food. According to the priests, this is necessary so that the cells of the body are not destroyed, as well as to preserve the energy stored in the dead human body. In the event that at least one grain of salt is in the food, the zombie will become angry and uncontrollable, and may even kill its master.

After the neo-li completes the assignment, he goes to the place of his grave and buries himself in it. Moreover, looking at the grave, no one would even think of the idea that someone came out of the ground. As soon as a zombie enters the grave, his body immediately begins to decompose. Neo-li dies, now forever.

Without exception, all inhabitants of Africa, of course, are against the fact that after the death of their loved one or acquaintance becomes a zombie. In order to prevent this kind of reincarnation, Africans use good anti-zombie fetishes. One has only to turn the deceased face down or put a sharply sharpened knife or a freshly cut palm branch in his hand - and the person will never turn into a neo-li.

Such a fetish is aimed at severing the relationship of the deceased with his potential master. The good symbol, as it were, neutralizes the power of the fetish of the priest, who, with the help of supernatural power, wished to hire a dead man to serve him.

Eyewitnesses say that quite often in the villages of Togo, Benin and Nigeria you can see a person, most often a priest, accompanied by a young man. He slowly moves after his master, methodically executing all his commands and at the same time is silent. Locals call them "luvo" which means "shadow". Such people-shadows disappear immediately after their master dies. Where they find their last refuge - no one who lives on earth knows.

One of the Europeans traveling in Africa brought home the story of a native of the continent. He recalled that at the age of 12 he managed to meet a real zombie. It was the village priest's assistant. The boy turned to neo-li with questions. However, he was silent, it seemed, sacredly keeping the secret of his master. But the persistent boy still managed to get the conversation going. However, he did not answer the questions asked, but he told an interesting story.

It turned out that by order of his master, the zombie was sent at night to Pelesa. This small town was located more than 300 kilometers from the native village. How could an ordinary person overcome such a long journey in just one night? The boy decided that before him was none other than neo-li. Frightened, he rushed away from the mysterious creature and continued to try to bypass him if he appeared on his way.

The same resident of an African village said that in southeast Africa, almost every city governor and village headman has a helpful zombie.

This is the first type of zombie, neo-li. The second type is, as they say, a living person who, by the will of the evil spirits caused by the priest, was deprived of the ability to think and perceive the surrounding reality. This is a shell man, a man-machine without thoughts and emotions.

According to Africans, a person consists of three hypostases: spirit, soul and body. At the same time, the leading role is assigned to the spirit, which is the foundation for the design and development of the personality. From the soul comes the energy necessary for the life of the body. The body is a kind of mechanism through which the soul and spirit are manifested.

The priests learned with the help of a fetish to deprive a living person of his spirit, while not taking life. However, he least of all resembles a person, with his passions, desires, aspirations and thoughts. It is rather a living corpse, only a body that exists in this world as if by inertia.

The sages say that the spirit is able to leave the human body during sleep. He can fly freely around the village. It is at such a moment that the priest can catch the human spirit in his net. A person turns into a memoryless and insensitive creature who does not know his past and present, does not know how to think and does not express emotions.

Such zombies are in many ways similar to neo-li: they have glass, unblinking eyes, an intrauterine deaf voice, detachment from the world and a constant readiness to fulfill any order of the owner. However, they are distinguished by a number of features. The fact is that such zombies can age and, if the skin is damaged, wounds appear on their body. Therefore, there is a way to destroy them.

There is one more difference between the second type of zombie and neo-li. After the death of their master, they do not disappear anywhere. Zombies remain to live in the world of ordinary people. However, their days are bleak, because they will never be able to learn to act without the master's order. Not adapted to life, they die, not much outliving their master.

As mentioned above, the phenomenon of zombies is closely related to the Voodoo cult. According to Africans, a Voodoo devotee is protected by the good spirits of Nature. Even during the initiation, a person is taught to merge with nature and absorb energy from trees, stones, earth, water, grass, sun and moon. As a result, the spirit of a person becomes incredibly strong, and then no priest will be able to subordinate him to his will, using even the most effective fetish.

The phenomenon of zombies is still a secret sealed for many. The main reason for this is primarily the fact that the priests strictly keep the secrets of their spells. Otherwise, they will face a terrible and painful death. These are the cruel laws of the world in which mysterious creatures called zombies live.

Recently, scientists are concerned about the increasing frequency of cases of hypnotic zombies in Europe. A person who imagines himself to be a great ruler, with the help of spells adopted from African priests, and hypnosis affects the subconscious of his own kind, subordinating their will.

Thus, the very concept of "zombies" has been somewhat transformed. Now a zombie is called a person who has fallen into an energy dependence on another through hypnosis.

After several sessions of such hypnosis, a person ceases to control his mind and will, and acts on the orders of the owner. At the same time, a coded person cannot answer the question of why he committed this or that act.

However, this is not the worst way to zombify. The hypnotic brainwashing with the use of narcotic substances leads to darker results. The psyche of a person stuffed with drugs is most of all subject to outside influence. Such a zombie acts like a well-oiled clockwork.

The sovereign can set him up to fulfill any desire. It is no coincidence that this method of zombifying is often used by intelligence services. An agent recruited in such an inhuman way will work better than any machine gun, unquestioningly following orders.

Speaking about modern methods of zombie, one cannot but mention the work of sects. Often the most ordinary passer-by is in the sect precisely because of the possession of its leader the elementary skills of hypnotic influence.

Currently, professional spellcasters know and possess the methods of the so-called multi-stage impact on the human subconscious. In this case, it is extremely difficult to clear the zombie from the spell, since for this you need to know the password words, as well as the method of submission (and there are a great many of them).
