“It was in 1966 in the village of Kormikha, which is 70 kilometers from the city of Rubtsovsk, Altai Territory. The village is large, divided into two parts. The famous Ryabinskys surname lived there. Volodka Ryabinsky stood out among them. He lived away from the rest of his relatives, in his courtyard, had a house, cattle, farm. There was in him, as they say, something of the unclean. It was said about him that Volodka was an “expert,” that is, he knew what was inaccessible to others. He could send damage to cattle, to people. Either the cow stops milking, then the sheep die or the person gets sick for no reason. They did not love him and were afraid of him. He married fifteen times, but the women, sensing something was wrong in him, left him.

At the other end of the village lived a widow - Gurova Maria Pavlovna with her daughter. The widow was an energetic and hard-working woman, she had her own house and farm. She had a good cash cow, a few sheep, and a bird. And this Ryabinsky somehow drew attention to her, began to look after her, but received a sharp and decisive refusal. Then he took revenge on her, but in a very strange way. He had a huge boar, and he "dried" it to the widow's cow. Pigs in Kormikha roamed freely in the wild, and this boar began to accompany his "beloved" everywhere. She answered him in full reciprocity. In the pasture, they stood side by side for hours, and it was clear that they did not need anything else.

There was a case when a pig got into the herd. The other cows did not pay attention to her, but the “lover” did. With wild rage, she attacked the pig, trying to gore her with horns and trample her hooves. And she would have done this if the peasants who were nearby had not driven her away with stakes. Here is such jealousy.

More than once the boar ran to the widow's yard (and this is 5 kilometers away!). Mother and daughter chased him with sticks: “Go away, you bastard! What do you need?" But the cow, seeing the "beloved", tore off the rope leash, with horns and forehead broke the poles of the summer enclosure and rushed to meet him.

Further - worse: the cow has ceased to graze normally, milked. The widow had to lead her to the slaughterhouse in the regional center. One worker there, seeing a cow, was amazed: "How did you decide to hand over such a cow for meat ?!" She told him everything frankly. However, this man was not afraid to buy her cow from Gurova. The new owner of the "in love" cow began to treat her with a healer grandmother, and gradually the animal began to recover - she began to milk and give birth.

And what about Ryabinsky? He ended badly. His last wife decided to cure him of witchcraft. At someone's prompting, she somehow in the winter with the help of three friends, when her husband fell ill, dragged water from the hole into the log and began to bathe him in it, reading some conspiracies. They said that Volodka screamed with good obscenities from this bathing and after, having been ill for a week, he died."
