Not so long ago, nuclear waste 50 million years old was discovered in the sea, most likely a "legacy" of an unknown civilization. Many are probably familiar with this expression - forbidden archeology. More precisely, this is due to finds that are not accepted to advertise.
In some cases, it is better not to disclose what was found at all. Since such artifacts fall out of our familiar picture of the surrounding world. Moreover, this is impossible to believe.
Below we will talk about one of the finds, which it would be better not to find at all. In some cases it is probably much better to remain in the dark. Than then think about where it came from, and how to proceed with it.
Ancient landfill
British researchers from the University of Cambridge recently made an extremely unusual find. Working in the North Atlantic Ocean, scientists have discovered something incomprehensible. The first thing the researchers faced was an island, about 10 thousand sq / km in area.
Presumably, the island that went under water about 50 million years ago is already of great interest. But what the researchers found under the layer of silt caused an unprecedented surprise from the find.
There, on the ocean floor, radioactive waste was stored under a thick layer of silt. Moreover, as underwater archaeologists have found out, the entire island is a huge burial ground of nuclear waste! Probably intended for storing nuclear waste 50 million years ago - and subsequently sunken.

As shown by preliminary analysis, the huge capsules are filled with transuranic elements. They contain isotopes with secular decay periods.
The top of the tanks is covered with a material made of carbon fiber. According to experts, it is so durable that it can protect capsules from external influences for millions of years.
Of course, the natural radioactive background in these places is overestimated. But not enough to sound the alarm. Based on calculations, British scientists talk about the prohibitive levels of radioactivity inside the burial island. What to do with the find is completely unknown, so it was decided not to touch the nuclear repository.
Who left the nuclear waste dump?
This is one of the most terrible finds, which says that in ancient times, someone left a stow of nuclear waste on the seabed.
There are two suggestions as to who could have done this. Both versions are fantastic though.
First, aliens brought nuclear waste to the planet about 50 million years ago. They say that they got rid of the harmful "garbage". This version was proposed by ufologists, big fans of extraterrestrial intelligence and the theory of ancient astronauts.
Second, the nuclear burial ground was left by advanced ancient civilizations that once lived on Earth in the past (who left the planet).
As was suggested by British researchers, perhaps the artificial burial was laid by Atlantis experts? Respectively flooded near the Shetland Islands, the artificial island belonged to the Atlanteans.
