And how much do we know about this world: about amazingly intelligent animals, quite intelligent trees, stones and so on, attributing conscious activity only to man?

At the same time, when an animal performs some act, striking from our point of view, commensurate with human logic, we suddenly think: how do all its other inhabitants perceive the world? After all, surely animals also think, even in images, plan something, have a memory, certain attachments, just like us, they love, hate and even are capable of heroic deeds.

It is about one such act that I want to talk about. A woman named Dora lived in Ohio, a suburb of Buchwid in the United States of America. Her house was next to the forest, so Dora had to go through the road every day that went through the thicket. She never even thought about the fact that it was dangerous, but once … in this deep forest she was attacked by a bandit. He stunned Dora with a blow to the head, robbed her and, dragging her away from the road, began to choke - apparently, he wanted to get rid of the witness to his crime, since the woman saw him before the attack.

Dora, coming to her senses at that moment, realized that she could no longer be saved and therefore mentally said goodbye to life. But here in the thicket branches crackled under the feet of some animal, and the next moment a young deer flew to the scene of the crime, butting at the villain with a running start, so much so that he flew to the side.

The offender jumped to his feet and again rushed to Dora - apparently in the hope of completing his dirty deed, but the deer also showed persistence in its quest to save the unfortunate: he again fled and butted the criminal with the head for the second time. After that, the man realized that it was time for him to leave the scene of the crime, and therefore hastened to run away.

Dora came to her senses, scrambled out of the bushes and for some time looked in amazement at the deer that had saved her. And he stood and also watched the woman, as if he wanted to make sure that everything was all right with her. Then he turned and ran away …

Some believe that only a few animals have such a heightened, almost human consciousness. If we turn to the theory of reincarnation, then, most likely, these are those of them who are destined to be reborn as a human in their next life. Or, conversely, those who were already human, but for some reason (apparently for sins) were reborn into an animal. After all, how many such cases are when children (and they are up to two years old perfectly remember who they were in a past life) remember that they were a snake, a dog, a horse, and so on. Moreover, sometimes these memories are confirmed, since they coincide with real events in which a deceased animal (later reborn into a human) and people who remember all this took part. So our heroic deer, presumably, runs with human consciousness …
