Who are zombies?
This concept came to Western languages from voodoo magic practiced in African countries and in Haiti. This magic combines African and Indian beliefs, European occultism, and even contains elements of Catholicism. The cult developed especially actively in Haiti, and zombified people can still be found there today.
Zombies are dead and buried people who are raised from the grave and given a semblance of life by the sorcerers who practice this cult. Today, there is a version according to which people who have fallen into a coma-like state are not subjected to zombies. This condition is artificially caused by mixing food or water with a special drug. Then the sorcerers allegedly "revive" the corpse and completely suppress the will of the victim, using hypnosis techniques and drugs for this. Thus, a person loses free will and becomes dead to relatives, while in fact he can work somewhere on a plantation as a slave for many years.
