It was circulated by two occultists, John Dee and Edward Kelly. They claimed that this language was transmitted to them by the angels themselves and it is the oldest on the planet. But is it? In 1581, two scientists, Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelly, claimed to have received messages from angels during a seance. They taught them the basics of a language that was complete - with syntax, grammar, vocabulary and alphabet, and all this knowledge scientists wrote down in their diaries. The scientists themselves called it angelic, but over time the name Enochian became attached to it, since they argued that the biblical character Enoch was the last who knew this language.
John Dee.
Dr. John Dee was a mathematician, geographer, astronomer, astrologer and occultist. He lived in London for most of his life and was quite famous for his seances. He was a confidant of Queen Elizabeth I and was involved in the creation of the term "British Empire". From a very young age, he was interested in the occult and the supernatural, which led to Dr. Dee becoming disillusioned with science and devoting himself to the search for magic books.
Among his finds, the most important trophy was the Book of Enoch. From 1581 he began a series of various experiments, and in 1582 he began to collaborate with Kelly. They stated that in the course of their experiments they managed to contact the angels who taught them their language. Scientists have presented a full-fledged language in which you can communicate, unlike other languages at that time. They used some objects in their experiments, such as a black obsidian mirror and a crystal ball. All his experiments and "conversations" with angels Dr. Di wrote down for posterity.
The heyday of the popularity of this language did occur, but much later, in the 19th century. He was especially loved by followers of various occult practices, for example, the magical Order of the Golden Dawn. Of course, mainstream science regards this language as artificial, which was created by Dr. Dee and Edward Kelly. However, there are still people who use this language to conduct magical rituals.
