It turned out they were separated in infancy after their parents died in a car accident.

A unique case occurred in the US state of Mississippi. The couple, who came to the doctor for help in conceiving a child, found out that they are in fact twins. This was established by a DNA test, reports the Daily Mirror. The doctors refused to disclose these couples, citing medical secrecy.

It is only known that the brother and sister were tragically separated in infancy, after their parents died in a terrible accident. Then they were adopted by different families, so that they did not even know about the existence of each other. The future spouses met in college, immediately felt the similarity and fell in love.

The doctor who performed the DNA test admitted that this was the first such case in his practice.

- They were attracted to each other because of their similarities. They felt that they could really connect with each other. If they knew the truth, they could have saved themselves from the enormous pain they are experiencing now, - he shared with reporters.

By the way, there is criminal prosecution for incest in Mississippi. So, for marriage with a brother or sister in the state, you can get up to 10 years in prison. But given the very unusual nature of this case, the couple will not be charged.
