The contribution of Nikola Tesla to the high-tech of the twentieth century can hardly be overestimated. All the technology of the twentieth century is built on his discoveries. It was his work that made the emergence of modern electronics possible. And if at least half of what his many fans say was actually invented by Nikola Tesla, it is safe to say that Tesla became not only the greatest inventor of the twentieth century - he became a visionary and founder of technologies of the third millennium …

Death Ray, aka Death-Ray

This is one of the most famous projects of Nikola Tesla. Without going into details, we can say that the idea was to generate a stream of charged particles, but it is not known which ones. The system potential reaches 80,000,000 volts. According to Nikola Tesla, this beam is capable of melting the engine of any aircraft, and all ammunition in the bomb bays detonates under its influence.

The aiming range was "only" 250 miles (about 400 km), and in fact was limited only by the curvature of our planet. The diameter of the beam is supposed to be up to 12 meters (which, as you understand, is very, very much), and the installation itself is "a small plant costing about 2,000,000 dollars."

As you can imagine, the Death Ray, whose range is limited only by the natural curvature of the planet, could be an excellent alternative to missile defense, costing $ 10 billion. But if we talk about the invention of Nikola Tesla, then the case cost a maximum of a billion. The problem is, - and Tesla himself mentioned this, that the "Death Ray" is based on "new principles of physics, which modern scientists cannot even think about."

Naturally, such an invention should have interested the military of the whole world. And I must say, this is exactly what Nikola Tesla was counting on - after all, if every country possesses such weapons, wars will become simply impossible.

According to some reports, Tesla, failing to interest the American government with his "Death Ray", sent a schematic diagram of the device to England and the Soviet Union. Until now, rumors circulate that it was the Soviet scientists who achieved the greatest success in recreating the "Death Ray" according to Nikola Tesla's drawings.

Allegedly, 20 years after the end of the Second World War, an experimental installation was built in the south of the Soviet Union. Moreover, all the same rumors claim that over several decades this system has been greatly modernized and reduced so much that it was already placed on some kind of mobile platform. And the test of this weapon in combat conditions allegedly took place during the conflict in Afghanistan, but (presumably) due to the exorbitant cost of maintenance, the system was not widely adopted.

However, all these are just rumors. As you yourself understand, it is useless to ask about the presence of such weapons in our troops, even if such a system existed - we were definitely not told anything about this. So it remains a mystery. By the way, it is Russia and Russian scientists who are considered the most consistent and successful researchers of Nikola Tesla's inventions.

Power transmission over distance

This is another dream of Nikola Tesla, which has remained unfulfilled. At a time when Gugliemo Marconi was running around with the idea of radio, which had already become uninteresting for Tesla, Nikola was thinking about the global energy network, about transferring energy and information to any part of the planet without any wires. To be precise, there were two ideas. The first is the transfer of energy through the ionosphere, the presence of which was also predicted by Tesla.

The second is the transfer of energy directly through the planet. Initially, Tesla focused on the transmission of electricity through the ionosphere (remember, it is located at an altitude of about 80 km). But how to raise the energy to such a height? Even with all modern technologies, it is impossible to build a tower 80 km high; it will simply collapse under its own weight. So Nikola Tesla suggested using balloons to lift cables to such heights.

However, the idea turned out to be untenable for the same reason. And then the brilliant scientist came up with the idea of transmitting electricity using "Tesla coils". A laboratory was built in Colorado Springs, where the largest Tesla coil at the time, 15.5 meters (51 feet) in diameter, was installed, which, according to the inventor's plan, would send electricity using an antenna 43 meters (142 feet) high.

During the first test of his installation, Tesla created a gigantic lightning bolt, the rumble from which could be heard at a distance of 100 kilometers, burned the generator of the El Paso Power Company power plant, made lamps installed in the ground several kilometers from his installation glow, and properly “electrified »Several horses through metal horseshoes.

In general, we can say that it was a great success for the inventor. And this is proof that Nikola Tesla excelled in a field that modern scientists classify as science fiction.

Over the next nine months, Nikola Tesla continued to experiment. There is a lot of evidence that the scientist was able to create ball lightning in his laboratory! Today, no one can even explain what ball lightning is, while even at the beginning of the century Tesla could already create them.

There was even more fantastic evidence. In particular, it was reported that Tesla accidentally received radio signals from space - most likely, he just caught the natural radiation of the stars, but then everyone had aliens in mind. Unfortunately, the project in Colorado Springs ended in failure - Tesla's investors were tired of the constant claims that fell on the scientist from all sides.

Just remember the burned-out generator. However, the failure in Colorado Springs did not stop Tesla. In 1900, he persuaded millionaire J. P. Morgan to invest $ 150,000 in his new laboratory. He assured the investor that this time there would be no complaints. Moreover, he announced that he was going to create an alternative to radio, not a global energy grid.

This time Tesla decided to discard atmospheric experiments as too laborious. Now the thought occurred to him that the planet itself was filled with certain electrical vibrations. So instead of creating dangerous effects in the upper atmosphere, it is better to simply send the same vibrations across the planet directly from your laboratory. And then they can be received anywhere in the world using a wire dug into the ground.

There is speculation that with the help of his new laboratory, the Vandercliff Tower, Tesla planned to turn the globe into a giant capacitor, with the ionosphere on one side and the earth on the other, connected through electrical channels that would create giant ultraviolet lamps pointing upward. Or maybe not.

Tesla's notes leave a lot of room for interpretation, but researchers are inclined to think that he was simultaneously developing at least three theories. By the way, with the help of his global network, he wanted to control the weather, and finally, to fulfill his cherished dream - to end all wars.

Unfortunately, Tesla was deprived of financial talent. He could not finish the tower with the money he received from Morgan, who refused to continue funding. The tower was eventually sold in 1905 to cover Tesla's bill from the hotel.

This fact, by the way, refutes Tesla's connection with the Tunguska phenomenon, which occurred three years later. Nikola Tesla never gave up his dream of a global energy network, but he could never find an investor who would agree to invest in this project.

Destroyer of worlds

Back in 1898, Nikola Tesla announced that he had created a kind of "electromechanical oscillator", which, if installed on any structure built with a metal frame, would destroy this object in less than an hour.

In particular, according to Tesla, he can destroy the Brooklyn bridge in just half an hour. And a few years later, the inventor claimed that he could destroy the Empire State Building faster than you could say "cartoon super villain".

Now, attention. The size of the device, which in terms of the force of destruction is comparable to the most powerful bomb - ABOUT AN ALARM! Now imagine how you could miniaturize this device, taking into account the development of technology! As a result, it could easily be the size of a wristwatch, or, at most, a mobile phone!

But Tesla did not stop there either. He publicly stated (his biography is generally replete with loud public statements) that, theoretically, he could destroy the entire planet by installing several similar devices in different parts of the globe, which, when activated, will split the globe "like an apple."

If we remember that now scientists are actively working on a system that could quite cheaply and effectively destroy asteroids approaching our planet, Tesla's invention could come in just the way.

Nikola Tesla's legendary recordings

Nikola Tesla died in 1943, in the midst of the Second World War, during a grand bloodshed, which he tried to end throughout his life. Shortly before his death, Nikola Tesla said that he had managed to improve the very "Death Ray", which was supposed to put an end to all wars on our planet.

The morning after the death of the inventor, his nephew rushed to his room at the New Yorker, but he was outstripped. Presumably, even before the arrival of Nikola Tesla's nephew, an employee of the Yugoslavian embassy, who was associated with the communist party of this country, visited the inventor's room.

According to his nephew, the issue lacked some of the inventor's papers, including the famous black notebook, in which Nikola Tesla entered the most important information about his research.

Subsequently, these papers allegedly ended up at the disposal of Soviet scientists, and in the mid-seventies, a working installation of the Death Ray was allegedly built in the Soviet Union. There are even photographs of this installation published in the American press in 1980.

All of Tesla's records that the FBI managed to obtain were examined by Dr. John Trump. This engineer concluded that all the research done by Nikola Tesla 15 years before his death was speculative or philosophical, inspired by the mania for wireless power transmission, without any serious justification or reference to the principles on which such results can be achieved.

But with a high degree of probability it can be argued that it was a “duck” for journalists and the public, excited by Tesla's public speeches. And that's why.

Immediately after the end of World War II, the US Department of Defense launched a project codenamed Project Nick. According to some reports, it was Tesla's papers that became the basis for this project. The results of this secret program have never been published.

There is speculation that the HAARP "research station" in Alaska is nothing more than a simplified version of the "Death Ray" invented by Nikola Tesla. This weapon was used only once, and according to some reports, it provoked a number of weather cataclysms.

According to many scientists, the consequences of using the HAARP system are almost unpredictable. Be that as it may, in the 60 years that have passed since the death of the inventor, no one has managed to unite the planet with a global energy network. Some believe that if there was a way to create such a system, the great inventor took this secret with him.

Some quotes by Nikola Tesla

- I no longer work for the present, I work for the future.

“I have finally succeeded in creating discharges that far exceed the power of lightning. (1899)

- Since then, 80 years have passed and I still ask myself the same question (note - What is electricity?), But I am not able to answer it.

- Our world is immersed in a huge ocean of energy, we are flying in endless space with incomprehensible speed. Everything revolves around, moves - all energy. We are faced with a daunting task - to find ways to extract this energy. Then, extracting it from this inexhaustible source, humanity will move forward with giant strides. (1891)

“Once the project is completed, the business person will be able to dictate instructions from New York and they will immediately appear in his office in London or elsewhere. He will be able to talk from his workplace with any telephone subscriber in the world. An inexpensive instrument, no more than a watch, will allow its owner to listen to anywhere: at sea or on land, music or songs, the speeches of a political leader, an eminent scientist, or the sermons of a priest located at a great distance. Any picture, sign, drawing or text can be transferred in the same way. (1908)

“The waves generated by my transmitter will be the greatest spontaneous manifestation of energy on the planet.

- I need to complete the construction of my station. This will be a step that will move humanity forward for a century.

- The practical transfer of electrical energy without wires and the production of destructive effects at a distance is certainly possible. I have already designed wireless transmissions that do this. My skills have advanced so far that impacts of great destructive power can be transmitted anywhere in the world, determined in advance with great accuracy. (1915, while investigating high energies)

- These will be aircraft on completely new principles - without gas cylinders, wings or propellers. At high speeds, they will move in all directions, regardless of weather, air pockets, and downdrafts. (1908)

- The Russians want to secure their borders, and I made them an offer, which is now being considered. (1934, in a letter to a friend)

“I’m completely exhausted, but I cannot stop working. My experiments are so important, so beautiful, so amazing that I can hardly tear myself away from them to eat. And when I try to sleep, I think about them all the time. I guess I'll keep going until I drop dead.

- This is how my mental journeys began. At first vaguely, but then I saw better new places, cities, countries. Lived there, met people, made friends. It's hard to believe, but they are as dear to me as my family and as real.

- I have been struggling with this problem for several years. It was a matter of life and death. I knew I would die if I didn't solve it. My brain was strained to the limit, and at some point the unthinkable happened - I heard the ticking of a clock three rooms away from me, the landing of a fly on the table echoed in my ears, in the dark I had the sensitivity of a bat and could locate objects thanks to special tingling sensation in the forehead. The sun's rays pressed on my brain so much that I almost fainted. A carriage rushing in the distance shook my body and suddenly I saw a flash like a small sun. In an instant, the truth was revealed to me. It was a state of absolute happiness. Thoughts came in an endless stream, and I barely had time to fix them.

- I don't need models, drawings, experiments. When ideas come to my mind, in my imagination I begin to build a device, change the design, improve it, and turn it on. And I am completely indifferent to the tests of the device in my mind or in the workshop - the results will be the same. For 20 years, I have not had a single exception.

“My brain is only a receiving device. In outer space, there is a certain core from which we draw knowledge, strength, inspiration. I have not penetrated the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.

- The great secrets of our existence have yet to be solved, even death may not be the end.

- How many people called me a dreamer, how our deluded myopic world mocked my ideas. Time will judge us.

- If there is no opportunity to successfully attack any state, wars will end.

“I could split the globe, but I never will. My main goal was to point out new phenomena and disseminate ideas that will become the starting points for new research.

- The action of even the smallest creature leads to changes in the entire universe.

- Do you know the expression "You can't jump above your head"? It's a delusion. A person can do anything …
