In the summer of 1939, a US Air Force transport aircraft with passengers on board took off from a military base in San Diego.

Soon the radar stations received the SOS signal sent by the plane's pilots. An hour later, a transporter in trouble landed at the same airfield in San Diego.

When the ground personnel opened the hatch, they were horrified to see that all twelve passengers on the plane were dead. The only survivor was the commander, but he died a few minutes later. The dead people had strange burn wounds. It was not possible to find out who inflicted them.

As it was established during the investigation, the crew and passengers used personal weapons. This was indicated by the traces of bullets on the skin of the aircraft, positioned as if people were trying to hit some evasive enemy. Apparently, they could not get into the creature that appeared in the cabin.

The specialists who dealt with this case put forward a paradoxical hypothesis that the death of the passengers of the transport ship could be directly related to some mysterious celestial beings. And they had certain grounds for such an assumption.

The fact is that, according to ancient sources, as early as 106 BC, giant red ravens were seen over Rome, which carried hot coals in their beaks. Coals fell down and burned houses.

In the Middle Ages, similar fiery creatures resembling birds appeared in France and Portugal. Then they were called fire elementals, fire spirits.

In the mid-80s of the last century, in San Juan, the main city of the island of Puerto Rico, and the surrounding settlements, mysterious firebirds also caused numerous fires. Witnesses indicated that the wingspan of some individuals reached four meters, and instead of feathers they had tongues of flame.

An indirect confirmation of the presence of unexplored life forms in the atmosphere is also evidenced by the cases of mass departure or death of birds.

On September 11, 1948, the building of one of the tallest skyscrapers in New York at that time, the Empire State Building, was attacked by hundreds of birds of various species. According to eyewitnesses, the birds fought through the windows, as if fleeing from an unknown threat. And even earlier, in May 1917, hundreds of dead birds fell from the sky over the American city of Baton Rouge (Louisiana). Moreover, many of them had traces of strange burns!

A similar incident occurred in August 1960 near the California city of Capitola Beach. Then, too, a large number of dead birds fell from the sky, the cause of death of which the ornithologists did not establish.

Analyzing such cases, the American researcher Charles Fort put forward the assumption that jelly-like organisms that resemble marine jellyfish live in the atmosphere of our planet. They are equipped with stings and tentacles, with the help of which they can get birds for food.

For a long time, the existence of such organisms seemed unthinkable until a special substance was developed in the United States, in its structure resembling something between a solid and a gaseous state and at the same time lighter than air. Researchers have suggested that perhaps the flesh of celestial predators consists of a similar substance.

This point of view is partially supported by an episode that occurred on December 28, 1958 in Florida. On that day, police detective Faustin Galegos discovered a strange object in the courtyard of his house that could be picked up, but not felt.

The object was a semi-transparent ball the size of a soccer ball and weighed practically nothing. The detective did not manage to save the ball, because a few hours later it simply vanished into thin air.
