Nine-year-old Clara, an absolutely adequate child for her age, suffers from Treacher-Collins syndrome.
Clara's parents, even before her birth - the third child in the family - knew that the girl would suffer from mandibular-facial dysplasia - a disorder of craniofacial development.
It is characterized by: antimongoloid eye incision, hypoplasia of the zygomatic bones, colobomas of the lower eyelids, hypoplasia of the lower jaw, anomalies of the auricles and other disorders. To this day, the girl cannot breathe without a built-in tube and hear without a hearing aid. However, Clara's mother did not agree to an abortion and did not leave her daughter after birth.
Now Clara goes to a regular American school and dreams of growing up as soon as possible so that her head becomes big enough for plastic surgery and she becomes "like other children." Not because he feels like a freak or suffers from ridicule, but for another reason. “I want others to stop asking questions all the time. It's so annoying!”She says.
