I must say that most researchers in this area were worried not so much by the need to find out the truth, but by the desire to find ancient technologies and knowledge that were available to ancestors and are not available to us now. With such information, a person could get incredible power, and with it, of course, super profits, but if one person or a group of fanatics got access to perfect technologies, then the planet and all of humanity would be threatened with complete destruction or enslavement.
In the second half of the nineteenth century, in the wake of technological progress and an even greater loss of its weight in society by the church, Masonic lodges began to legally exist and new communities were formed showing an increased interest in the occult. It was during this period that expeditions to the East, Egypt, Africa and South America, where the cities of ancient civilizations were once located, became especially frequent.
The search acquired a special scope after the manifestation of interest in them from the high command of the Third Reich and Hitler personally.
