Belarus was excited by a mysterious shaggy creature that runs through the forests of the Grodno region. Everyone wants to at least know who it is. The collective farms are afraid that the "Bigfoot" will trample the harvest. The mushroom pickers are happy, he does not attack them. And the children say that he looks like fabulous devils.
For several weeks now, residents of the village of Krasnovtsy have been signaling to the authorities: an unprecedented animal has appeared in the vicinity. His sketches are already published by the central press. The name for the Belarusian "Bigfoot", however, has not yet been invented. And they saw him most often in the corn field.
The Belarusian Yeti prefers to hide in dense foliage, occasionally climbing trees. It was shown mainly to children. However, they give the description of the monster strikingly the same.
“She is big, black, arms up to her knees. There was a trace left. She sat in a tree and ate. At first they thought it was devil,”say Ilya and Sveta Kosykh.
Eyewitnesses are happy to demonstrate few material evidence of contact with an unknown creature - a blurry track on the field after rains. And the claw marks on the birch, from which it examined its new possessions. The possessions, apparently, are rather big. Residents of three districts are already adapting to the unusual neighborhood.
“We go to the forest, pick mushrooms and berries. She doesn't bother us, we don't touch her,”local residents say.
The chairman of the village council was the first to check the rumors. The harvest campaign began, and then the relict hominoid got into the habit of trampling bread.
“We checked, the Emergencies Ministry checked, but found nothing. There are a lot of people in the forest,”says Alexander Iodko, chairman of the Vaver village council, Vaverki village.
Witnesses describe Bigfoot as a thickly furred humanoid creature of great stature, leaving enormous footprints. Since the discovery of the first tracks in the Himalayas, it was seen in the 60s in the Pamirs and California, in the 70s in the Caucasus and Altai, and in 2002 - not high in the mountains, but on the Kola Peninsula.
The 1967 amateur footage by Ray Wallace of San Diego is still debated by scientists. If you believe the descriptions of eyewitnesses, a creature appeared on the border with the EU, very similar to a female Bigfoot from the California mountains. Bigfoot has never climbed this far into flat Europe.
Such news was simply doomed to success. Belarusian newspapers and the Internet are full of new stories about the Yeti. The police reassure the population: the most likely version looks like an escape to the nature of the great apes. In this case, it can hide in the Belarusian forests until the onset of the first cold weather.
“No one has filed claims for damage, there is no reason for panic. The check is being carried out,”says Georgy Yevchar, head of the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Grodno region, soothing people.
However, another threat to the harvesting campaign comes from Brest. In contrast to the peaceful Bigfoot, local journalists discovered a very aggressive crocodile python.
