A 26-year-old woman from Kalmykia weighs just over 25 kilograms. Doctors cannot yet name the reasons for the catastrophic weight loss of a young woman.
The patient puzzled doctors back in 2014, when she became pregnant and was able to bear the child. Then the maximum weight of a pregnant woman was about 38 kilograms. Doctors gave her a caesarean section and forbade her to breastfeed the boy. Nevertheless, now the woman has a healthy son who, unlike the mother, has no problems with appetite.
Doctors were unable to confirm the suspicion of anorexia. But the woman's hair is already falling out, hearing and vision are gradually deteriorating. Doctors can only state a lack of weight - cachexia. How to stop this process, no one is yet able to say. No pathology was found in her gastrointestinal tract. Neither the surgeon nor the endocrinologist found any serious problems either. A woman cannot even get a disability, since there are no formal grounds for obtaining this status.
The problem is that a woman's poor family cannot send her to Moscow, although even this is risky for her. A woman may simply not tolerate a long trip to the capital. And in order to go there accompanied by an airplane, live in Moscow for several days and return home, according to the most conservative estimates, at least 40 thousand rubles are required.
