1940 - During the Dunkir operation, the English corporal Teddy Watson, whose mother, Mrs. Helen Watson, lived in Ellerback, was also listed as missing. She had no doubts that her son had died, but the military authorities could not send her a "funeral", because during the retreat, many lists of those killed were lost.
1956 - feeling that she did not have long to live, Mrs. Watson wanted to find the grave of her son. And, as if in response to this desire, one day she had a dream. She dreamed that she came to a military cemetery, on which there were hundreds of white crosses. She slowly walked through the cemetery until she came to one cross in the corner. And he suddenly appeared in front of her her son, dressed in a military uniform. He stood near the cross for a few moments, smiled and disappeared.
At the cemetery, Mrs. Watson saw and remembered well the boundary pillar, by which, as she woke up, she thought it would be possible to find this cemetery. She went to Dunkirk and quickly found the place she dreamed about. She went up to the cross, which, as she had dreamed, had a smiling son, and pointed at him to the officer accompanying her. The officer noted the location of the grave.
When Mrs. Watson returned to England, a letter and a package were already waiting for her. The letter stated that the grave had been opened and that Corporal Teddy Watson was indeed buried in it. The package contained a rosary, an engraved cigarette case and a medallion with a photograph that belonged to her son.

In the late 1980s, Dr. Julian Barton was a renowned Los Angeles-based psychotherapist. He also studied the cases of contact of the dead with living people who suddenly appeared in front of their relatives and friends, as if alive. As it turned out, quite a few cases of this kind were recorded and their number is increasing all the time. Professor Barton became interested in such contacts because of an incident that happened to him.
The professor's mother died unexpectedly in early 1973 at the age of 67 as a consequence of a massive heart attack. Burton took her death very hard, but by September the pain of her loss began to subside.
“One September evening,” as Dr. Barton recalled, “my wife and I, for the first time after a long break, had a small reception for our friends. I was in the kitchen slicing pineapple and arranging slices on a platter when footsteps were heard behind me on the right. Not doubting that it was my wife who had come, I turned to the right, at the same time asking what other fruits we should serve to the table. There was no answer, but footsteps were heard again and I realized that my wife, still remaining behind, was now on the left side. I turned to the left, repeating my question, and saw that behind me was … my mother!
She was as if alive and seemed much younger than when she was dying. She wore a light blue dress made of thin translucent fabric with a chic trim of expensive Marabou Feathers. I have never seen this dress before!"
For a few moments the doctor looked at his resurrected mother in confusion, then her vision seemed to melt into thin air.
The next morning, Barton called his sister, who lived in another city, and told about the vision. And not forgetting to describe in detail the magnificent dress of the mother. Having finished his story, the doctor asked if his sister believed him. She, with tears in her voice, said that she had absolutely no doubts, only she was very sorry that her mother had come to her brother, and not to her, because she remembered well the dress he had told about. The fact is that two weeks before the death of their mother, the two of them went shopping together and in one of them they saw the same dress. The mother really liked it, she even tried it on, but did not dare to buy it: the price of $ 200 seemed too high to her.
The dead appear in a dream
The people are well aware of prophetic dreams. They supposedly can predict a person's future, help find solutions to complex problems, and give a warning of impending disaster.
Often, the main characters in prophetic dreams are also “departed” relatives and friends. It is they who provide important information, can suggest the right decision, and warn against danger. Refer to Charles Berlitz's book for examples.
Early in 1978, 72-year-old Florida farmer Henry Sims went with his wife to a nearby town to visit his daughter in hospital. The wife wanted to stay with her daughter for the night, and Henry returned home late at night. In a spacious house, apart from the Sims, their second daughter lived with five children, and there was also an old friend who had come to visit. When Henry returned, everyone was already asleep. Trying not to make noise, he went up to the bedroom, went to bed and immediately fell asleep.
“The next thing I remember,” says Henry, “is a dream. As if two children of my late sister, 8-year-old Paul and his little sister Mary, are approaching me. They both died with their entire family in 1932 in a terrible fire that burned down their home in Liv Oak. So, these kids came up to me and said: “Uncle Henry, Uncle Henry, wake up soon!”. I actually woke up and immediately smelled burning. My first thought was about my grandchildren: they should not suffer the fate of Paul and his sister! And I started screaming and calling for help. Everyone in the house woke up. We with my daughter and our friend managed to get the children out of the burning house and saved ourselves."
Later, Fire Inspector Lieutenant Frederick Lowe told reporters in a local newspaper: “It's a miracle that old Sims woke up on time. A couple more minutes, and everyone in the house would have been burned to death."
And Henry Sims himself commented on the words of the inspector as follows: “The Lord decided that it was too early for us to die. It was he who sent Paul and Mary to warn me of the danger and made it so that we all had time to leave the burning house."
Hint from the "other world"
"The Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri, the great Italian poet, is rightfully ranked among the masterpieces of world literature, considering the poetic encyclopedia of the Middle Ages. But people might never have seen the finished work of a noble Florentine, if not for the prophetic dream of his son Jacopo.
1321 - Dante died, Jacopo and his brother Pietro grieved not only the death of their father, but also the fact that the manuscript of the Comedy, discovered after his departure to another world, was unfinished. The brothers knew for sure that he finished work on it shortly before his death, and for several days they searched the house, carefully sifted through the papers left after his father, including all the drafts, but the end of the poem was never found …
Tired and saddened, Jacopo lay down to rest and fell asleep. In a dream, he saw his father enter the room, dressed in sparkling white clothes. Jacopo asked him if he had actually finished work on the comedy. In response, he nodded and said where the missing part of the manuscript was.
That same afternoon, Jacopo went to his father's office with a lawyer, a longtime friend of his father, who was invited as a witness. When they removed the small tapestry that adorned the wall, they saw a small door in it. A niche was found behind the door, in which all the missing pages of Dante's famous creation were located.
So, thanks to the hint received from the "world of the dead" from the author himself, "The Divine Comedy" became known to the whole world as a whole, finished work.
After such cases, it remains only to believe in the existence of spirits, ghosts and other inhabitants of the other world, as well as in the existence of this world itself.
Ghost sailors
1924, early December - on the tanker "Watertown" (USA), en route from New York to the Panama Canal, two sailors were killed - James. Courtney and Michael Meehan. They were poisoned by poisonous fumes while cleaning a cargo tank. According to maritime custom, they were buried at sea. But the very next day, the ghosts of the dead appeared in front of the Watertown sailors. The ghosts appeared in the form of their faces in the water and constantly sailing behind the ship. Every day they were seen by the captain, Keith Tracy, and all the crew members. The persons remained aft of the tanker and at the pier in the port of New Orleans. The captain reported the mysterious case to the port authorities, who asked him to take photographs of the ghosts. When the film was developed, there was nothing out of the ordinary in five of Tracey's six shots, but the sixth clearly showed two sad human faces.
Notably, City Service, which developed the film and printed the photographs, made the case public by posting a note with the photograph in Service magazine in 1934, as well as posting an enlarged photograph of the ghost faces in the central lobby of its New York office. York.

And, strangely enough, the storm around their ship also began to subside, people took heart, gained new strength and nevertheless emerged victorious in the battle with the elements. And before the vision of the "Pamir" disappeared as unexpectedly as it appeared, the Chilean sailors examined on its deck a motionless man with an arm in a sling …
It is known that other vessels met at sea with the Pamir. And each time such meetings took place in a critical situation, which - after the appearance of the ghost of this sailing ship - ended happily. It seemed "Pamir" was in a hurry to help the sailors in trouble, and such assistance was rendered effective every time. Perfume but call
In the middle of the 19th century, spiritism began to spread in the West - first in America and then in Europe. This mystical movement is based on belief in the afterlife and contains a description of the ways of "communicating" with them.
The literature of the past, especially the memoirs, contains many spiritualistic seances. At the same time, in a number of cases, examples are given confirming that the participants actually communicated with the spirits, and did not become the organizers of a collective hoax or victims of a rally.
Here is one such example. Once in London during the First World War, famous mediums Hester Travis-Smith and Geraldine Cummins held a seance. Soon after it began, the "spirit" of Cummins' cousin, who had been killed shortly before that in France, intervened in what was happening. Calling his name, he asked: "Do you know who I am?" After receiving an affirmative answer, the spirit asked: “Tell my mother to give my pearl tie pin to the girl I wanted to marry. May she have a memory of me. " Moreover, he said the name and address of the girl.
Mediums sent a letter to the girl, but for some reason it remained unanswered. Believing that the "spirit" gave the wrong address, or that this whole episode was generally fiction, the mediums forgot about it. But six months later, Cummins found out that her cousin was in fact secretly engaged, which even his closest relatives did not know. And his girlfriend was called exactly as his spirit "said", and when the military department sent the personal belongings and documents of the deceased to his parents in England, among them was found his will, written in France, and that same pearl pin. The will said that if he did not return from the war, then the mother should give the pin to his bride as a memory of him.
Later, this case was investigated by the famous physicist Sir William Barrett and was convinced of the authenticity of the events described in it.
