Humanity can observe a stunning astronomical phenomenon - an eclipse of the Sun - from 2 to 5 times a year. But scientists warn that in the future, we will not be able to witness how the Moon completely eclipses the solar disk.
According to space researchers, every year the natural satellite of the Earth moves away from us by 3.8 cm. In about 630 million years, the Moon will be so far from the Earth that its shadow cannot prevent the penetration of sunlight onto the planet's surface. Our descendants will lose the opportunity to witness solar eclipses.
Of course, this will not happen immediately. The number of solar eclipses will gradually decrease. They will become rare and incomplete. Observers on Earth will only be able to see annular eclipses. Such astronomical phenomena occur when the moon cannot completely cover the star, as a result, a barely visible rim of the solar disk is formed.
Why the moon changes its trajectory is unknown. There are several versions. One of them confirms the fact of the scattering of galaxies. Scientists suggest that the solar system will lose some of the planets in the future. So far, this list includes Mercury, Uranus and Neptune. It is possible that a number of planets will lose their satellites, including the Earth. But scientists are reassuring, saying that people will observe these processes from other galaxies.
