One of the essential features of UFO behavior is their reaction to attempts to intercept, fire or capture. With the approach of the fighters sent to intercept, the UFOs acted in different ways. In some cases, before the approach of aircraft, they simply disappeared, as was the case several times in a row in 1952 over Washington.

In the case recorded in the NORAD documents, in March 1967 an unknown disc-shaped object with flashing lights hovered over the Minuteman missile base in North Dakota at an altitude of about 150 m and began to circle above the silos. To capture it in case of landing, 3 trucks with soldiers were sent. At the same time, F-106 fighters were raised to intercept it, but before their arrival, the object rose sharply upward and disappeared.

On October 8, 1990, in the Grozny area, a mark from an unknown object, located at an altitude of 4500 m, suddenly appeared on the radar screens. The fighter pilot returning from the mission, Major P. Ryabishev, was given the coordinates of this object from the command post and the task was to identify it. However, having arrived in the indicated area, Ryabishev did not find anything there, although the weather was clear and cloudless. Having reported this, he flew back and soon saw two huge cigar-shaped objects from the right and behind, located one behind the other and moving "sideways" with great speed.

The length of one object was about 400 m, and the second was almost 2 km, and they were clearly visible. According to the command post, their distance from the aircraft was about 15 km.

Ryabishev turned the fighter and went to approach the objects, but they instantly disappeared from sight, although the marks from them on the radar screen remained (Rabochaya Tribune. 1990, October 20). On other occasions, when fighters approached, UFOs, playfully, moved away from them at high speeds.

In October 1948, an American fighter tried 6 times to approach an unknown elongated object flying over Japan, but the object each time pulled away from the aircraft at a speed of more than 10,000 km / h, after which it slowed down again. In July 1954, a huge cigar-shaped object approached the Stratocruiser aircraft flying from New York to London near Goosebay and flew in a parallel course several hundred meters from the aircraft. Six small disc-shaped objects maneuvered around this "cigar". Four F-86 fighters were sent to intercept this UFO, but as they approached, all small objects flew into the cigar, which soared up at a speed of about 3000 km / h and disappeared.

The whole phenomenon lasted for about 20 minutes, and it was observed not only by the crew and passengers of the plane, but also by the crew of the Canadian warship in the area.

In November 1976, four French Mirage fighters were sent to meet a UFO that appeared over Marseilles. The pilot of one of them, Captain Roger, reported that he saw a solid round object at an altitude of 3 km, surrounded by a gas cloud. But when the Mirage approached the UFO, it increased its speed to 3600 km / h and disappeared.

In May 1978, pilots of 2 Chilean F-5 fighters flying in the Antofagasta area were tasked with intercepting an object moving at an altitude of about 10,000 m at a speed of almost 4,000 km / h. But when the fighters approached this object, he abruptly changed the direction of flight and after 30 seconds was 30 miles from the aircraft, that is, it developed a speed of more than 6000 km / h.

The departure of UFOs from fighters at high speeds was also noted in 1951 over New Delhi (India), in 1953 in South Dakota (USA), in 1964 in Porto Rico, and in 1979 again in Chile. In the event of a forced landing of a passenger plane in Valencia in November 1979, four Spanish Phantom fighters from Llanos airbase were sent to intercept the hovering UFOs. But when the planes flew up to Valencia, the UFOs rose to an unattainable height, and after the fighters left, they dropped again and hung like that for 4 hours.

These UFOs were captured on film and recorded by radars. In the case that occurred on May 9, 1980 in Peru, near the Mariano-Melgar airbase, the hovering UFO did not react to the bombardment of the Peruvian fighter plane and began to withdraw quickly only after the fighter began to make a second approach to attack.

And sometimes UFOs, on the contrary, moved away from fighters to very low altitudes. Colonel de Brauer, head of the operations department of the Belgian Air Force headquarters, told reporters detailed information about one of these cases. On March 30, 1990, in Belgium, two ground-based radars recorded the appearance of an unknown flying object in the same place, and two F-16 fighters were raised to intercept it.

Initially, the object flew at an altitude of 3000 m at a speed of 280 km / h. But after he was "caught" by aircraft radars, in just one second he increased the speed to 1800 km / h and rapidly dropped, first to 1700 m, and then even lower. At an altitude of less than 200 m, it became invisible on the screens of all radars. Then the object again rose to a considerable height, and as soon as the radars carried out its "capture", it again dropped sharply and disappeared from the radar screens. And this happened three times, resulting in the impression that the object was deliberately trying to evade the fighters.

The striking maneuvers of the UFO, which repeatedly changed its direction of flight, and two fighters lasted for 75 minutes. They were also observed from the ground by many eyewitnesses (including 20 gendarmes), who saw the object itself and the F-16 aircraft.

Colonel de Brouwer completely denied the assumption that it could be a balloon-probe or the American stealth aircraft F-127A "Stealth", and Belgian Defense Minister Guy Coem, speaking on television, said that he had allowed the Air Force to transfer the Belgian Society for the Study of Space Phenomena all information on UFOs that they have. But there are also known cases when UFOs themselves began to chase fighters or arranged a semblance of air battles with them.

The materials of the "Blue Book" describe an incident that occurred on the night of November 6-7, 1950 with one American fighter.

The pilot of this fighter saw some moving luminous object and tried to follow him "in the tail". But this object, without making any turns, unexpectedly rushed at high speed onto the plane and raced directly above it at an altitude of 30-60 m. Then the pilot made a sharp turn to see the object again and ended up on his tail. And the object again rushed onto the plane and swept over it. This was repeated 5-6 times.

Still trying to follow the object, the pilot began to gain altitude at an angle of 60 degrees, and the object circled around the plane at twice its speed.

At times, the rate of its ascent reached 1000 m / s. In the end, the pilot was forced to abandon the pursuit. An incident in the Laredo area in December 1952 caused great excitement in the US Air Force. The pilot of the F-51 fighter, Lieutenant Vogl, during the flight approached an unknown disc-shaped object, which itself immediately began to describe circles around the aircraft.

After a series of dizzying maneuvers, Vogl nevertheless tried to chase him, then the disc rushed with great speed directly to the fighter and only at the last moment turned sharply to the side, hitting the right wing of the aircraft. When the frightened pilot saw that the disk was about to repeat this maneuver, he took his plane in a spin down and landed.

In a state of severe shock, Vogl was sent to the hospital. In the third case, which took place in August 1956 in the area of the British Lackenheath and Bentwaters airbases, a spherical UFO was visually detected, making maneuvers at an altitude of 600-800 m at a speed of 3200-6400 km / h. It was also recorded by radars. A Venom fighter was sent to intercept the UFO, the pilot of which reported that he saw the object and had already approached it at a distance of 1 km, but the UFO unexpectedly made a lightning-fast maneuver, ended up in the tail of the plane and began to pursue it, being behind it at a distance of 60 -180 m.

Moreover, all attempts of the pilot to break away from the UFO were unsuccessful, since the object, synchronously repeating all the maneuvers of the aircraft, all the time continued to remain on his tail. This went on for 10 minutes, after which the fuel began to run out, and the frightened pilot took the plane to land.

All this was also recorded on the radar screens. In the Blue Book and in the Condon Commission (see Chapter 9), this case remained unexplained. A more recent case occurred in June 1980 in Chile, where four fighters from the Sierra Moreno airbase were sent to intercept a triangular UFO with lights on the edges, detected by radar at an altitude of 4500 m. As the fighters approached, this object began to rise vertically upward with a large speed, and then headed straight for the planes, so much so that they were forced to dive to avoid a collision. After that, the UFO began to rise again, reached an altitude of 18,000 m and disappeared.

Similar cases took place in 1948 in the area of Fargo airbase (North Dakota), in 1952 near Haneda airbase (Japan), in 1953 in the Rapid City area (South Dakota), in 1955 in Cincinnati (Ohio). It happened that UFOs with their radiation stopped the engines of fighters sent to intercept them, as a result of which they made forced landings. In June 1944, a UFO appeared in the area of operations of the 38th US Navy Task Force. Two fighters from the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga were sent to intercept it. When trying to attack UFOs, both fighters failed their engines, and they made an emergency landing on the water. Their pilots were picked up by the destroyer Aaron Bard.

Two interesting, almost identical UFO encounters occurred with test pilot Apraksin, who was testing new aircraft in the Kapustin Yar area. This happened for the first time on June 16, 1948, when Apraksin, during a flight at an altitude of 10,500 m, saw some unusual object in the shape of a cucumber flying in a transverse course. Sheaves of rays emanated from the object in the direction opposite to flight.

After contacting the base, Apraksin received an order to approach the object and, if he refused, to go down, open fire on it. Apraksin directed his plane towards the object and managed to get close to it, but was blinded by a bright beam directed from the object to the plane. The car began to fall, and the pilot hardly managed to translate it into planning and land.

During the investigation of this case, Apraksin was shown an act about a similar story with another aircraft. The second UFO story occurred at Apraksin on May 6, 1949 in the Volsk region. Being at an altitude of 15 km, he again saw a cigar-shaped object flying towards him and went to approach him. When the distance between them became 10-12 km, a bright ray also appeared from the object, aimed directly at the plane. Under the influence of this beam, all electrical equipment of the aircraft was turned off and radio communication with the airfield was lost. In addition, the plexiglass glass was damaged and the cabin was airtight.

With great difficulty, Apraksin landed the plane on the Volga shallows, 40 km north of Saratov and lost consciousness. After that, he had to spend 2.5 months on treatment in the hospital. In the case below, stopping the engines caused the plane to crash.

In July 1954, an F-94 fighter was raised from Griffiths airbase (New York) to intercept UFOs. Two minutes later, the pilot reported that he saw a motionlessly hanging shiny disc-shaped object, and rushed towards it. Suddenly, the engine stalled, and the instrument arrows stopped showing anything, and the pilot felt a flush on his face. He wanted to report to the base, but realized that there was no more time. He shouted to the radio operator to eject and follow him himself.

As he descended, he took another look at the huge round UFO.

Both pilots successfully landed, and their plane crashed and crashed. However, the reaction of UFOs to attempts to intercept and fire them was not always so harmless, because there are cases when fighters trying to attack these objects exploded or fell apart. In July 1954, two Starfighter fighters armed with missiles were sent to intercept UFOs near the city of Utica (USA), but the UFO hit one of the planes with a "beam weapon".

In 1956, an American fighter pilot paid with his life when he opened fire on a UFO that appeared over Okinawa. An interesting case is presented in the book of the famous English ufologist T. Goode "Top Secret". According to the 6947 Squadron of the American Air Force, which intercepted radio communications of the Cuban Armed Forces, in March 1967 two Cuban MiG-21 fighters were sent to intercept an unknown object flying towards the island at an altitude of 10 km. Approaching the object 5 km, the pilot of the leading fighter reported to the command post that the object looks like a large metal sphere without any details. Since it was not possible to identify the object, the pilot was ordered to shoot it down, but the pilot reported that the fighter's radar and missiles were out of order. And after a few seconds, the pilot of the second plane reported, that the leader's plane exploded without flame and smoke.

After that, the staff of the Cuban radar station reported that the object sharply increased its speed, climbed to an altitude of more than 30 km and disappeared in a southeast direction. Similar incidents also took place in 1948 over Godman airbase (Kentucky), in 1953 at Otis base, in 1954 over the San Diego naval base (California), in 1956 in Indiana, in 1971 over the Israeli airfield El Umar and in 1972 - over the Alamogordo desert. However, since these data are not taken from official sources, one cannot be sure of their complete reliability.

At the same time, they cannot be rejected, because in the American, French and our guidelines it is recognized that UFOs can have a damaging effect on people, animals and equipment. This is confirmed by the statement of the head of the American continent's air defense, General Chidlow, made back in 1953: "We have a huge mass of reports of flying saucers and we take it very seriously, since we have lost many people and planes trying to attack UFOs."

The case when a UFO itself attacked and shot down a plane deserves special consideration. According to the Japanese air defense command, on June 9, 1974, a disc-shaped object with a diameter of about 10 m over Tokyo unexpectedly rushed towards the Japanese Phantom fighter sent to intercept it, the pilot of which managed to turn sharply to the side to avoid a collision.

Then the object made a sharp turn and again rushed to the Phantom, then began to rush around it and crashed into the plane. At the same time, both pilots managed to eject, but the parachute of one of them, Lieutenant Colonel Nakamura, caught fire, and he died. The co-pilot, Major Kubota, escaped. No UFO wreckage was found.

Foreign sources cite individual examples when, in response to the shelling of anti-aircraft missiles, UFOs allegedly destroyed not only missiles, but also launchers with their beam weapons and inflicted damage on ships.

In May 1969, a UFO that looked like a huge orange appeared over Hanoi and was fired upon by several anti-aircraft missile battalions. All of the missiles exploded before reaching their target. One anti-aircraft missile launcher was destroyed by a UFO beam, and its crew died.

In June 1971, the cruiser Newport News, patrolling off the coast of Vietnam, opened fire on the UFO that had appeared. After 5 minutes, an explosion of ammunition occurred on the cruiser in the bow turret of the main caliber, from which 17 people died.

In November 1974, at one of the NATO bases on the island of Sardinia, an anti-aircraft missile was launched at a huge disk-shaped object with a dome on top, hovering over the sea. At the same time, a movie camera located on the installation for monitoring the trajectories of the missiles being launched recorded that as the rocket approached the object, a laser-like beam flashed from it and destroyed the rocket.

Films of this unusual incident were shown on Italian television in the fall of 1976.

In the fall of 1974, in the Bini region (South Korea), a disc-shaped UFO with a diameter of 100 m approached the Hawk anti-aircraft guided missile battery. A missile fired at it was immediately destroyed by a white beam that flashed from the object. A second flash of the beam was directed at the battery itself, after which the launcher with two other missiles was found fused into an unrecognizable mass.

The cases cited in the foreign press look very strange when fighters sent to intercept UFOs disappeared without a trace when they encountered these objects. This usually happened as follows: on the radar screens they observed how the mark from the UFO merged with the mark from the plane, and the general mark either disappeared or moved away with great speed, and no traces of this plane were found.

Below are a few similar examples.

In November 1953, an unknown flying object was discovered on the screen of a radar station at Kinross Air Force Base (Michigan). Lieutenant Wilson, who was on a training flight in an F-89 fighter, received permission to attack it. Operators watched as the plane and UFO marks on the screen merged, and communication with the plane was cut off. Despite careful searches, no remnants of the aircraft were found in the area. In the area of Calgary (Canada), three UFOs were found on radar screens, which were slowly moving towards Washington. The pilot of a supersonic fighter sent to intercept them, at an altitude of 5000 m, reported that he saw a target, but soon sent a distress signal, and at the same moment the mark from the plane disappeared from the radar screens.

Despite careful searches, no wreckage was found. After this incident, the pilots of the airbase were ordered not to fly closer to the UFO than 16 km.

At the end of 1972, 4 radar stations in the states of Colorado, Utah and Nevada detected an unknown flying object and notified 3 fighters in the air in the area. At the same time, this object was observed visually from a large military aircraft flying by. The fighters went to intercept the UFO, but he sharply increased speed and flew into a large cloud, and after him fighters flew into the cloud. Then the marks from three planes instantly disappeared from the screens of all four radars, although the mark from the UFO moving at great speed was still visible.

From a large plane, they also watched as only one UFO without fighters flew out of the cloud. From that moment on, these aircraft and their crews disappeared without a trace. In fairness, it should be noted that such cases occurred not only with fighters, but also with conventional transport or training aircraft.

In 1955, a ground-based radar station in Sangent Hill detected a UFO near a flying American military transport aircraft with 26 passengers on board. An unknown object, moving in a zigzag manner at a speed of 4000 km / h, headed straight for the plane, after which the marks from the UFO and from the plane on the radar screen merged together, and the common point began to move away at an unusual speed.

Despite careful searches, no trace of the missing aircraft was found.

In March 1974, in the area of Kirtland airbase (New Mexico), a UFO was detected on the screens of three radars moving in close proximity to a military aircraft performing a training flight. Suddenly, the UFO changed course and rushed straight into the plane, after which the marks on the radar screens merged into one luminous point, which began to recede at an amazing speed. Attempts to contact the pilot by radio were unsuccessful.

This plane also disappeared without a trace, and prolonged searches did not yield any results. Unfortunately, there is no way to be convinced of the complete reliability of these facts, because the American Air Force carefully conceals this kind of information.

UFOs that landed on the ground or hovered at low altitude, when threatened with capture, usually immediately took off.

In April 1968, in the Gobi Desert (China), an unknown disc-shaped object with a diameter of 3 m, which landed at the location of a company of military builders, as the motorcyclists sent to capture it approached, rose sharply and disappeared.

In the early 1970s, in the Tra Yang area of Fuyang Province, China, a pan-shaped object emitting green light, landed a wide white beam at the soldiers trying to surround it, and also soared up and disappeared. A very interesting, and most importantly, officially documented case of this kind took place in our country. A copy of the teletype message sent by the head of the Kazankovsky regional department of internal affairs, police major Stepanov, to the regional Department of Internal Affairs of the Nikolaevskaya Oblast (Ukrainian SSR), has survived: “I report that on November 14, 1986 at 19.20, the ROVD received a message from the regional party committee that on the field of the state farm“Ukraine” a UFO has landed like a satellite.

At 19.25 a task force of 8 people headed by me urgently left for the scene. At 19.40 the task force arrived in the specified area 1.5 km west of the village of Nikolaevka. An object similar to an oil rig was discovered in the field at a distance of 200 m. When the two task force vehicles began to approach the object, it began to move away from them at the same speed as they were approaching. The object was located about 50 m above the ground. So the task force pursued the object for 20 minutes, and during this time the vehicles drove 15-20 km.

And when the cars tried to go around the object from both sides, it increased its speed and disappeared from the field of view in the direction of the Ustinovsky district of the Kirovograd region. Description of the object: 50 m high, more illuminated from above than from below, it looks like an inverted Christmas tree … Before disappearing, the object rose to a height of 100 m from the ground, stopped for a while and suddenly disappeared."

In a conversation with a reporter, Major Stepanov said that in fact the object had the shape of a parachute with slings, and in the report he compared it to a Christmas tree only because of the large number of lights that made it look like an illuminated Christmas tree.

An object in the form of a fiery parachute was seen in the evening sky by dozens of Nikolaevka residents, and many of them reported this to the village council and the state farm office the next day. But in the morning Major Stepanov was instructed to work with the personnel "on the UFO fiction."

So the truth about this event was drowned out. The foreign press also cites some rare cases when, in response to shelling from small arms, these objects hit the shooters with their beams.

In November 1968, a truck driver on a road in the Nevada desert fired twice with a revolver at a bright object the size of a windshield that accompanied his car. In response, he was burned by a blue beam that flashed from the object.

In August 1970, in Itatiaia (Brazil), the watchman of the Almiro de Freitas hydroelectric station saw a circular object with a row of 15 lights hovering at the edge of the dam, and heard some kind of explosion. Then he approached the object 15 m and began to shoot at it with a pistol. In response to this, a blinding beam flashed from the object, which rendered Freitas blind for 14 days.

The Chilean newspaper "Prensa" (1978. February 24) reported that, 130 km south of Santiago, a military patrol attacked at night a UFO which in response with its beam inflicted severe burns on four soldiers urgently hospitalized in San Fernando. All these facts indicate that attempts to attack and fire at UFOs can lead to casualties, and maybe other unforeseen consequences.
