Spanish explorer Manuel Cuevas said that he managed to find the legendary Atlantis, according to Centro Meteo Italiano.

According to the 52-year-old entrepreneur and explorer, the mythical island described by Plato is located in the vicinity of the Doñana Nature Reserve.

Cuevas has already officially notified the government of Andalusia that a large ancient city was buried near the mouth of the Guadalquivir River.

“I'm 99 percent sure I found Atlantis,” says Manuel.

According to him, he made the discovery using satellite images taken from an altitude of 700 kilometers. Cuevas presented the authorities with enlarged and processed photographs, as well as the coordinates of four large buildings that he discovered.

The dimensions of one of them are 180 by 360 meters. The area of the ancient city, according to the researcher, was about eight square kilometers. And he determined his age at two and a half thousand years.

Archeology professor at the University of Seville, Ramon Corso, said the discovery has yet to be verified. However, he does not consider Cuevas' statement to be groundless. The theory that the legendary Atlantis was in what is now Spain is not new.

By the way, a few years ago a group of American researchers announced that Atlantis could be buried in the Doñana Nature Reserve. However, from time to time the legendary mythical island is found in different parts of the world.
