One of the most famous incidents in modern history associated with the appearance of a UFO in the sky of our planet is the incident in the town of Aurora (USA, Texas). The story took place on April 17, 1897. Then a total of 3 thousand local residents lived there …

In 1897, in print publications, there were often notes about various appearances in the skies of Europe and North America of cigar-shaped aircrafts of unknown origin, circling in the sky, and then evaporating without a trace in the atmosphere. Such newspaper materials aroused the frenzied interest of the public, as the century of the industrial revolution began, and people expected man-made miracles from scientists and discoverers.

On April 19, 1897, the local newspaper Dallas Morning News published an article reporting on the incident in the town of Aurora, penned by local resident and freelance journalist S. Haydon. We will give it in full so that you have a complete picture of this emergency.

“At about six o'clock in the morning on April 17, 1897, the devotees to listen to the cock-singing of the city of Aurora were unexpectedly shocked by the appearance of an unknown aircraft in the blue sky, which was slowly floating over the city. The cigar-shaped apparatus was heading north, sailing at a low altitude, much lower than airships do.

Obviously, some of the mechanisms on the air machine were out of order, since the device flew at a low speed of 20 to 30 km / h. In addition, the car kept striving for the ground. The problems were obvious to everyone. The ship sailed over the central square and withdrew to the northern outskirts of the city. There he encountered a structure on the estate of Judge Proctor, it was a windmill tower. The air machine noisily met the mill and immediately disintegrated into many parts, after which there was a deafening explosion. Then the mill itself fell apart. Parts of the airship were scattered over several acres, destroying Mr. Proctor's excellent garden. There was only one pilot in the aircraft. His body was disfigured by the explosion."

At the crash site was a military liaison officer T. Weems from the nearby town of Fort Worth, who, after examining the pilot, issued his verdict: "This is a Martian." Interestingly, other US newspapers did not even mention this incident. But the inhabitants of Aurora treated the body of the Martian with the deepest respect, burying him in the local cemetery in compliance with all Christian customs.

Before the incident in Aurora, this city was hit by several misfortunes and misfortunes, but not abnormal. Shortly before that there was a cotton crop failure due to a powerful invasion of cotton weevil. Then, in the western part of the town, there was a massive fire that claimed several dozen lives and destroyed an entire residential area of the city. In addition to all the misfortunes, a typhus pandemic hit Aurora, claiming about a thousand lives.

At that time, a railway was laid near Aurora, implying a separate line to the city. But due to these incidents, the branch was never held. The author of that Dallas Morning News article, Haydon, is said to have written a newspaper article to raise awareness of the problems of the small town. Plus, he was known as a huge comedian.

Investigation of the incident

However, here some small details of the incident were revealed, which do not give ufologists the right to so simply dismiss this case. In the city archives of Aurora, evidence has been preserved pointing to a grave in the local cemetery, where an unknown person is buried (fragments of an air car were also put there).

The day after the crash, the military arrived in Aurora, taking an active part in collecting the wreckage of the airship. But the demolition work had already begun by the workers of Judge Proctor, who dumped the wreckage of the car into an abandoned well next to the broken mill. On one of the large fragments of the aircraft, some inscriptions were found, which were made by unknown hieroglyphs. Specialists worked on deciphering the hieroglyphs for a long time and to no avail, but they never deciphered anything.

In the 60s, they found the personal records of a certain traveler who, just in 1897, was passing through Aurora and described some scenes of searches at the crash site. He wrote that it was very difficult to determine the exact size and power of this aircraft from the distorted and burnt pieces of the aircraft's skin. And the pieces of metal themselves resembled an alloy of aluminum and silver. It did not seem likely to establish the approximate power of its engines. Experts agreed that the car had to weigh several tons.

Mid 20th century

In the 60s of the XX century, interest in this extraordinary story resurfaced. On local television today, there are videos of interviews with some Mary Evans and Charlie Stephens - the original inhabitants of Aurora. Mary at the time of the disaster was 15 years old, Charlie was 10 years old. Mary told how early in the morning a large ship sailed in the sky (she herself did not see it, but her friends described it in detail). Then she heard an explosion and ran out into the yard. Her father was just about to go to the mill to help put out the fire that had begun. Mary wanted to go to the scene of the accident with her father, but he slapped her and ordered her to stay at home.

Charlie was more fortunate. He happily told the TV reporter how a huge cigar-shaped apparatus, smoking, approached the city. Then his father sent him to the barn to feed the poultry, and the guy did not see the moment of his collision with the mill. Although later he was in ruins and even saw pieces of iron parts of the air machine.

It must be explained that since 1970, several large-scale surveys have been carried out on US television on that famous incident. For more than a hundred years, the city of Aurora has changed little. The only thing that is alarming is that the tiles on the streets of the city are identical to those that are placed on the runways of airfields.

It also raises questions from ufologists and the fact that local authorities do not allow scientists to exhume an unknown grave at a local cemetery, where, by all indications, the remains of an alien are buried.

Earlier on this grave there was a small table with the inscription "Tomb of an unknown creature." Scientists in the 60s of the XX century recorded magnetic waves coming from the ground, since several fragments of the ship were also put in the grave with the pilot's body. At the same time, this group of scientists sent a service letter to the US government with a request to allow them to exhume the body for scientific purposes. But the government sharply refused to scientists, they were forbidden even to approach the grave. At the same time, the slab disappeared from the burial, and later the experts were no longer able to pick up the magnetic signals emanating from the ground. Apparently, someone has worked in this place.
