Ghosts, poltergeists, UFOs … Some are skeptical about all such phenomena, others are wary. But a small group of our ufologists have a different approach. Scientific. Any anomaly must obey the laws of physics. True, not everything mystical can be easily and immediately explained.
Brest “anomalist” Viktor Gaiduchik, a historian by education, immediately stipulates: there are no unscientific topics, only an approach can be unscientific. Research into anomalous phenomena requires knowledge of many disciplines: physics, astronomy, geology, meteorology, and others. That is why all supernatural incidents are studied by a whole group of enthusiasts, grounded in theory and practice in various fields. This is an association of researchers gathered at the Ufokom Internet site. They characterize themselves not without humor: "adult uncles and aunts who quit their jobs and families and go to meet the unknown as soon as a message arrives that, for example, something strange has been seen in the sky over the county town N."
There are several directions at once: from unidentified flying or glowing objects in the atmosphere to the search for Bigfoot and lake monsters. The mysteries of history - for example, the search for Hitler's secret bunker near Orsha and even folklore mentioning ghouls - are also their theme. Ufologists devote various expeditions, reconnaissance and visits to anomalous zones to this, which afterwards becomes the topic of journalistic essays and even scientific articles.

Victor Gaiduchik talks about anomalies as a convinced materialist. And, I must say, 95 percent of all supernatural is really explained logically. Here is one of the many examples. The Brest TV cameraman showed the ufologists a video: forty minutes of a mysterious glow in the sky over the city. Victor admits that the staff really interested him:
- Since the night sky was overcast, the operator decided that the phenomenon was not astronomical. But we calculated that Venus was in this place and at that time. And its light was visible, because, according to the weather reports, there were no clouds that evening. The sky is just cloudy. Ordinary stars did not break through it, but for Venus this is not a hindrance.

And sometimes meteorological probes, airplanes, satellites, Chinese lanterns are mistaken for aliens … Recently, quadrocopters and illuminated helium balloons have appeared. Under certain conditions, this can make a strong impression on an unprepared person. And the ufologist has to analyze the event after the fact, calculating possible rational explanations.

However, the inexplicable happens. In the Brest region, UFOs were chosen by Polesie along the line of Ivanovsky, Pinsky and Stolin districts. Here, strange objects of various shapes are relatively often observed in the sky: spherical, triangular, cigar-shaped … This year a fresh signal came from the agricultural town of Parakhonsk. In March, several employees of OJSC "Parakhonskoye", returning from work, noticed a strange glowing red ball above the road. As often happens, on condition of anonymity, they shared their observations with ufologists. Victor cites the testimony of the milkmaid Galina Kh.:
- I was sitting in the front. In the first seat behind the driver. I look at the red light in the mirror. At first, no one noticed him. I think it may have seemed. Then the second time the milkmaid, who was sitting on the side, saw him. I say to the driver: what is it? He: I don't know. Then the third time blinked …
The red flashes were so powerful that they illuminated the bus, the road and the entire surrounding area. The driver suggested that a motorcycle could be driving behind, and just in case he pressed closer to the side of the road. But there are no red headlights, and the rear lights cannot shine so powerfully. Then the road went a little to the right, and the mysterious light source disappeared from sight. It turns out that strange lights of red, orange and pink colors have been seen in these places many times - since the 80s. Perhaps there would have been even more witnesses to the mysterious phenomenon, but the trouble is that not all eyewitnesses talk about their meetings with the anomalous, simply fearing ridicule from their neighbors.

It is no less difficult for ufologists to work on the ground, where there is enough devilry. As with UFOs, most of the signals have an explanation. For example, a sticker with a cross in an apartment was frozen. Specialists arrived, took samples of the substance, and sent it for examination. It turned out that this is a common mold, which, having processed the glue base, gave a strange substance. By the way, at one time Victor himself was caught on the miraculous face of the Virgin, seen on one of the tombstones of the old Brest cemetery. But even this "miracle" was possible to explain by the amusing play of nature: the contours of the image were created by a colony of one of the types of terrestrial green algae, as well as by random spots and chips.
A separate topic is optics. Very often "ghosts" are filmed for photos and videos. In Pinsk, for example, in one of the slot machine halls, a black post was clearly visible on a video surveillance monitor right in the center of the room. The recording ceased to be interesting when it turned out that a fly simply got into the frame, crouching on the camera lens. By the way, with the advent of digital "soap boxes" ufologists were bombarded with pictures of "ghosts". True, the transparent balls turned out to be dust or suspended water droplets (depending on the shooting conditions), which were exposed by the flash in the out-of-focus zone.

On the other hand, there are three houses in Brest, whose residents have repeatedly encountered the other world, saw ghosts.
However, there is also a scientific approach. Victor says the easiest way, of course, is to declare a person a schizophrenic or to blame everything on alcohol, but everything can be much more interesting:
- Ideally, for each class of phenomena, a working hypothesis is needed that could be worked out on specific cases. According to one of these versions, electromagnetic fields of certain parameters can affect the human brain, causing hallucinations. Therefore, for especially extraordinary cases, we even invite one Moscow group, equipped with a wide range of measuring equipment for assessing the environment by a number of physical parameters. Of course, we do not use "magic frames" and the services of psychics.
And sometimes you have to resort to psychology. Another Brest woman was haunted by strange phenomena akin to sleep paralysis. Falling asleep, she fell into a state of numbness, felt a push in the back, and once something even bit her in the neck. During a casual conversation, it turned out by chance that the lady had once lost her beloved shepherd. It was this on an unconscious level that haunted her. Attacking an invisible aggressor felt like being attacked by a large dog. After the problem was opened, the ghost disappeared.
In general, ufologists kill two birds with one stone. And they educate the people, and for themselves each time they draw new knowledge in the most unusual directions. A year ago, a resident of Brest brought a flint nodule to them, in the cleavage of which a void of regular cylindrical shape was formed. And its axis was an almost perfectly straight "hairpin" of circular cross-section. It would seem that the stone itself is from prehistoric times, when there was no trace of man, but inside it was a man-made object. This is often said by those who believe that the Earth was visited by aliens back in the time of the dinosaurs, or supporters of the version about the existence of extinct civilizations. Alas, here the answer was prosaic: the artifact turned out to be a fossil - an imprint of a part of a sea lily from those very Mesozoic times.

What if I met a ghost or discovered a UFO?
Victor Gaiduchik advises:
- No matter how brave we are, everything incomprehensible scares us. The main thing is not to panic, but you should not forget about caution either. Out of curiosity, you won't touch the ball lightning with your hands, will you? When faced with an unidentified object, it is best to observe from a safe hiding place, remembering that there have been times when too bright a glow has damaged the retina of the eyes. The same goes for ghosts and poltergeists. If possible, try to capture what you saw in a photo or video, or just remember what is happening in detail in detail, so that you can then share the most detailed description with researchers of anomalous phenomena.

According to foreign media reports, this year NASA has officially confirmed the existence of aliens. In the fall, NASA spokeswoman Trish Chamberson announced that they were communicating with four alien races. Her words were confirmed by the Waterford Whispers News. The representative of the national agency said:
- There are so many documentaries and television programs about aliens: we thought everyone was already aware of them.
In addition, Chamberson told a shocked crowd of reporters: representatives of alien civilizations asked to say hello to earthlings. It turns out that they have been visiting Earth for thousands of years. Chamberson specifically noted that aliens complain about the actions of earthlings. They are dissatisfied with the use of nuclear weapons by mankind, since "this has a bad effect on parallel worlds":
- The aliens are actually harmless and they are only interested in the natural resources of the planet, this should not cause us any concern.
