According to him, they were able to stop the growth of cancer cells using gold nanoparticles delivered to the tumor site using a laser. At the same time, he noted, the effect is only on the affected cells, there is no harm to healthy cells. Currently, scientists are conducting clinical trials on animals, and if the absence of side effects is fully confirmed, trials on sick people will begin.

According to Mustafa al-Seyid, if effective, the use of nanoparticles could play a decisive role in the treatment of liver, kidney, and spleen cancer. Gold nanoparticles, due to their unique physical and chemical properties, are of great interest to scientists. In modern medicine, gold has already begun to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of a number of diseases, including malignant tumors. In addition to the fairly widespread chemotherapy, which uses colloidal solutions of radioactive gold, today there is a completely new modern method, which provides for the introduction of microscopic gold nanocapsules into the tumor tissue and the effect on them with infrared rays. In this case, cancer cells die, and healthy tissue remains intact.

In animal experiments, gold nanoparticles stop cancer by atrophy of tumor blood vessels. However, human trials have not yet been conducted.
