When it comes to pyramids, most of us immediately imagine the sands, Egypt and the majestic pyramids of Cheops, Khafre and Mikerin. But a huge number of pyramids are scattered all over the world. In this article I want to show you a selection of ancient structures that you probably haven't heard much about.
Pyramids La Quemada
La Quemada is a unique archaeological site located in Mexico. And scientists still cannot decide who built these solid structures. Since they are radically different in style from other pyramids in Mexico.
According to archaeologists, in the upper part of the Virginia Pyramid, there was a sacrificial temple, where numerous sacrifices were made to very bloodthirsty gods.
Pyramid of Cestius

If you move to Italy and travel along the ancient roads of Rome, then at the intersection of two of them you will see monuments dedicated to Cestius.
The building dates back to the 18th-12th centuries BC and was intended as a tomb for Gaius Cestius, an influential Roman magistrate.
Nubia
Now let's move to Sudan. A country that can be safely called the country of pyramids, because there are more of them here than in Egypt, almost twice. And at the moment there are 255 structures.
The only difference from their Egyptian “colleagues” is that the Sudanese pyramids are incomparably smaller. Since, according to the official version, they were intended for the burial of only one person.
Pyramids of the Canary and Azores
If you go to the Canary Islands, namely the island of Tenerife, then near the city of Guimar you can find six stepped pyramids at once. It is believed that they were built by the indigenous inhabitants of these islands, namely Guanches.
In the Azores, you can find pyramidal structures, which are called "maroicos" and in their structure they are similar to the pyramids of the Canary Islands.
What is noteworthy is that not all the internal cavities of the pyramids have yet been studied and it is likely that sensational discoveries will soon await us.
Mauritius island and its pyramids
The island of Mauritius is a small piece of land located in the Indian Ocean, 1,000 km east of the island of Madagascar.
There you can find an extremely curious complex of stepped pyramids that strikingly resemble the pyramids of Guimar, which are also located on the island (Tenerife) only on the opposite side of the African continent.
Very little is known about these pyramids. The only thing we managed to find out is that near these structures there is a whole complex of all kinds of structures.
In fact, there are just a huge number of pyramids scattered all over the world. Confused by the fact that most archaeologists do not want to explore pyramidal structures in areas where, according to the official version, they cannot be.
