In 1931. not far from Cape Town, in Saldanha Bay, the fishing boat "Maria Malu" was fishing. Suddenly, the fishermen saw in the water an unusual creature with a human head. The captain of the boat said that this strange creature did not resemble either a dugong or a seal. In the heat of hunting excitement, South African fishermen stuck a harpoon into the unknown creature and shot it a couple of times in the head. However, despite the wounds, the underwater inhabitant managed to escape from his pursuers and hide in the depths.

A dozen meters from the land, the guys noticed an amazing creature, completely covered with blue-black wet hair. It swam to the shore and began to climb the almost sheer cliff, as if there were suckers on its legs and arms. At this time, the guys saw that the creature has a long tail. In a long series of encounters with such creatures, the incident that took place in 1982 occupies a separate place. on the western shore of Lake Baikal. This happened during military divers conducting training and combat dives.
Suddenly, one scout diver surfaced and began to shout that 10-15 meters away he could clearly see a giant swimming by with a spherical helmet on his head. Outwardly, this creature was no different from humans, but it was about three meters tall. After some time, two more followed the first ichthyander. Being at a depth of 50 meters, these creatures did without scuba gear and any other devices and apparatus. All their "equipment" consisted of spherical helmets and tight-fitting silver overalls.
The incident was immediately reported to the authority. The command made a decision to immediately detain one of the mysterious swimmers. For this, a special group of seven divers was formed, but its activities ended tragically.
The divers tracked down a mysterious creature, threw a net over it - and at that time, some medium-powerful impulse literally threw the entire group to the surface. The ascent from such a depth required the divers to observe the decompression stop mode, and therefore the entire capture group was affected by decompression sickness. In this case, the pressure chamber was the only means of saving the victims. The divers even had several of them, but only one was in working order, and it could accommodate no more than two people. Therefore, three divers died, and four became disabled for life. Nobody else saw the Ichthyandras in Lake Baikal.
