The strange shape of the Devil's Tower, also known as the Devil's Tower, has given rise to many legends associated with it. In addition, the "tower" served Steven Spielberg in the creation of the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Degree".

The extraordinary mountain attracted the attention of a wide variety of people. In particular, the Russian ophthalmologist, researcher and writer Ernst Muldashev has written several books on this topic. In them, the author says that 850,000 years ago, the earth's axis passed through Mount Kailash in Tibet and Easter Island. Later, due to the global flood, it shifted by 60 degrees and fixed in its current state. According to E. Muldashev, after some time another shift will occur, as a result of which the Devils Tower will become the new North Pole.

One of the most famous Native American legends about the Devil's Tower is the tale of seven girls chased by bears. The girls allegedly climbed a small hill and prayed: "Rock, have pity on us, rock, save us!", After which the hill began to grow, becoming a rock. The rock rushed so high to the heavens that the girls at its top turned into the Pleiades.

There are also legends not related to the creation of the mountain, but rather describing its contents. Many years ago, a researcher studying northeastern Wyoming visited a Sioux tribe in North Dakota. After showing a photo of the Devil's Tower to an old Native American, he heard a somewhat strange question: "Have you already found a passage?" It turned out that we are talking about another old legend, which tells about three daredevils who hunted at the foot of the mountain. Wandering among the boulders, they allegedly found the entrance to the cave. The hunters stocked up on torches and headed deep into this cave, which turned out to be a tunnel that led into the mountain. At the other end of the tunnel was a large chamber filled with gold.

Since they had nothing to carry away the found treasure, the three men disguised the entrance and went home. They wanted to return for the treasure later, but they never succeeded: all three died. On his deathbed, one of them told his relatives about the secret of the Devil's Tower and they also wanted to find the cave, but failed. Numerous attempts to find such an entrance were made by European settlers, but also unsuccessfully. Perhaps the treasures of the Devils Tower still lie in that cave, awaiting their owner. Although, of course, it is possible that all this is an ordinary invention.
