There is a commotion in the corridors of the Latvian defense department: the local news agency LETA offered its consumers a very, very hot dish, baked with the assistance of a freelance journalist who dared to dig under the "oddities" at one of the military facilities in the town of Lielvarde. There is a military airfield (a former Soviet base of fighter aircraft and - at the same time - a potential "jump airfield" in case … the same one …), some of the premises of which is used (as it turned out) by "not quite aviation" specialists …

The article, published by the news agency, states the following: the residents of the town of Lelvarde are concerned that objects that are not related to aviation are located at the military aviation base - rather, to something from the field of military experimental bio-medicine. During a recent all-Latvian snowstorm, power was cut off at one of the facilities of the Lielvarde airfield, and a specialist with appropriate security clearance was called there. This specialist knows his job well and the first thing that caught his eye was the equipment of the facility. It was COMPLETELY not like what he had to deal with: "some flasks, microscopes, special sealed rubberized suits like those shown in the movies about all sorts of horrors with viruses and other evil spirits …".

It is also strange that on the special plans of the airfield buildings this object is assigned to the "recreation room of the personnel servicing the ventilation systems of the base." Why do we need microscopes and rubberized suits of the highest degree of biological protection in the break room? The question is LIKE rhetorical, but the locals who read this information were seriously alarmed. And the mention in the above-mentioned publication of the name of Jeffrey Silverman, a former adviser to the previous president of Georgia, added fuel to the fire. This noble American not so long ago made a stunning statement about the existence of secret military bio-laboratories in Georgia, in which work is carried out to improve bio-weapons and experiments are carried out on the civilian population of the country. Silverman said a lot in that post - with details and examples, pointing out thatthat Georgia is far from the only location for secret military bio-laboratories near the border with Russia. There is also Ukraine, other "former" ones. And everywhere such objects are located either on the territory of airfields or airports, or in the immediate vicinity of them …

The population of Lielvarde made a request to the Latvian Ministry of Defense with a request to give a specific answer to a specific question: if there is a military biological facility at the Lelvarde base, then who is responsible for preventing emergencies there (such as a power outage in the ventilation unit of the "rest room") ?

In the Department of Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania, the publication and the anxiety of the population were treated with ostentatious irony (not forgetting to point out that “in this case, they are dealing with an example of an inept psychological operation against the National Armed Forces”). Moreover, in a response to the LETA news agency, the chief PR officer of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania, Kaspars Galkins, pointed out a gross mistake made by the source of information about the scandalous object: “the equipment described in the publication of the news agency is not intended for military biological research, but for STUDIES OF UFOs AND REPRESENTATIVES OF EARTH CIVILIZATIONS COMING TO CONTACT WITH THE AIRBASE . These are the pies with space kittens.

By the way, to what was said in the above quote, Kaspars Galkins did not find anything better than to add: "excessive use of substances produced in home laboratory conditions is harmful to health and the Ministry of Defense of Latvia calls to take this into account …".

In which case Mr. Galkins joked, the source publication does not specify …

The publication of the scandalous material on a completely NOT scandalous resource (sargs.lv) ends with an attempt to put makeup on the place of a heavy info-slap in the face - a brief overview of the publications of the “anti-disinformation service” is given - the online edition “Disinformation Review” (a structure created with the assistance of American special services for the implementation of the program of info-war against Russia - "East StratCom Task Force"). This review provides several examples of "unsubstantiated information-stuffing by Russian special media services" (such as the Russian "Sputnik") on the connection between the detected cases of unexplained outbreaks of "local flu and other man-made infection" with the locations of American military biological laboratories. These are all myths, according to the myth debunking team doing their hard work under the auspices of the aforementioned East StratCom Task Force.

That, in fact, is all. The truth, as always, "is out there …"
