Almost five years have passed since during the city excavations in Vologda, a strange stone object was discovered that looked more like some kind of mechanism, or rather, part of a mechanism.
The size of a matchbox, this artifact immediately attracted the attention of many archaeologists and historians. It was found in the cultural layer of the 18th century, but scientists immediately made the assumption (and not without reason) that this strange little thing has a much more ancient origin.
As archaeologist Natalya Vasilyeva clarified to journalists, the uniqueness of that find was even in the fact that nothing of the kind had been found in Vologda either earlier or later. But here's what's strange: a five-year-old newspaper article says that the mysterious artifact will soon be sent to a laboratory, where researchers using the most modern tools and devices will determine its exact age and, possibly, its purpose.
And on this the whole thing, as they say, ended. Today, few people know about the mysterious Vologda artifact - there are more and more rumors, which makes it even more mysterious. One could write that scientists have not found out what it is, or how many years the artifact is. But rather, in this case, another question arises - where is this strange archaeological find today, from which only one photograph remains?..
What's so strange, Internet users immediately ask? We have many inconvenient artifacts that do not fit into the framework of the generally accepted concept of the development of human society and the history invented by someone, immediately … disappear. Most likely, they settle in private collections: this is beneficial for the same museums, it is safe for the same orthodox scientists, and it suits those in power. In general, as they say, everyone is happy. And only the inquisitive mind of individual independent researchers continues to worry and be indignant, but … no one cares about this …
