In Israel, scientists have found that artificial light from lamps, smartphones and other gadgets, especially at night, has a very negative effect on human health.

Israeli experts claim that unnatural light at night leads to hormonal changes in the body, which can cause obesity or cancer. Studies have shown that artificial radiation disrupts human circadian rhythms, and this leads to a significant slowdown in metabolism and a decrease in the production of melatonin, the lack of which weakens the immune system.

The scientists made their conclusions based on the analysis of satellite photos of the largest cities at night, located in 80 countries of the world. The researchers compared the pictures with data on the number of people suffering from obesity and cancer in these cities. As a result, it turned out that in cities with a predominance of artificial light, about 70% of the population have problems with being overweight. Moreover, people who are nocturnal or work at night have low levels of melatonin in their bodies, and therefore are more susceptible to cancer than others.
