Although scientists still argue about the possibility of creating a time machine, a number of cases are known in history when people were suddenly transferred from one era to another in some unthinkable way without any technical devices. Some of them managed to return to their time, but there were some who forever remained in a century alien to themselves.
From the past under the wheels of a car
Every year at least 2 million people go missing on our planet, for example, in England the number of missing British people is up to 250 thousand annually, in the USA - up to 800 thousand. Many of the missing can be found, but hundreds of thousands of people disappear without a trace. Of course, the main reasons for these disappearances are crime, bloody military conflicts and accidents. No one even thinks of a rather fantastic assumption that some of the missing people could simply get lost in time …
In the 50s of the last century, a striking case became the property of the press. A man in 19th century clothing suddenly found himself on a busy New York street in the midst of cars and was run over by one of the cars. According to the driver, the man appeared so suddenly in front of his car that there was no way to brake. The driver swore that the deceased seemed to have fallen from the sky: according to him, at the last moment he managed to notice on his face not fear, but genuine amazement.
The attempt to establish the identity of the victim of the run over puzzled the police a lot: in the pocket of the deceased there was an identity document issued 80 years ago … It turned out that the man was a traveling salesman and lived on a street demolished half a century ago. This story intrigued the police so much that they were not too lazy to rummage through the archive and find lists of residents of the area indicated in the document for the end of the 19th century, in which they found a mysterious traveling salesman.
This mysterious incident ended with an unexpected meeting. After reading about the strange victim of the collision, an elderly woman with the same last name as the victim came to the police. She told the detectives that 70 years ago, under very mysterious circumstances, her father disappeared. He went outside to breathe before going to bed and seemed to evaporate, all attempts to find him have led nowhere. The police visited the house of the alleged daughter of the deceased, she rummaged in a box with old photographs and found a picture of her father, the police simply did not believe their eyes when, in a photograph dated April 1884, they saw that strangely dressed man who died under the wheels of a car … It became clear that amazement, which at the last moment saw on the face of the deceased the driver who knocked him down, because for the first time in his life the salesman saw the most common modern car for us.
Something similar happened in the summer of 1936 in the United States in a small Californian town. On his street, out of nowhere, a frightened, old-fashioned, unknown old woman appeared to death. She literally shied away from passers-by offering her help. In this town everyone knew each other, so the appearance of such a colorful figure in a strange outfit did not go unnoticed, a crowd of curious people began to gather around the old woman. From the appearance of so many people around her, she was completely horrified, looking around with despair and confusion. Suddenly, the mysterious old woman disappeared in front of dozens of eyewitnesses.

Prisoner of the "devil's crew"
An unusual event that can no doubt be attributed to a sudden travel in time occurred in 1912. In one of the compartments on the express train, racing along the rails from London to Glasgow, the inspector of Scotland Yard and a young nurse were having a leisurely conversation. Suddenly, their romantic seclusion was broken in the most unusual way: an elderly frightened man in an old cocked hat and a long whip in his hand materialized on a seat by the window. His eyes literally crawled out of their sockets with horror, he screamed terribly and looked around in fear.
The inspector and the nurse rushed to calm him down, trying to find out who he was and what scared him so much. A man whose long hair was braided in a braid, and his worn clothes "smacked" of a museum exhibit, crying, shouted that he was a simple driver and did not understand how he got into this rumbling "carriage". The man gave his name and the village where his house stands.
Hoping to calm him down, the inspector told the stranger that he was on a train and suggested that he look out the window. Seeing from the window the locomotive of the train, which at that time was walking along the arc of the railway track, the man frightened me even more and even made an attempt to jump out of the window. The inspector, not knowing what to do with the strange stranger, ran after the conductor.
When he brought him in, the nurse was fainted, and the man who called himself the driver disappeared. They immediately looked out the window, the embankment could be seen quite far, but they did not see either the body or the fleeing person. The fact that the mysterious "fellow traveler" had not dreamed of the inspector was clearly evidenced by the cocked hat and the whip that remained on the bench.
This case intrigued the inspector so much that he conducted a small investigation. It turned out that the cocked hat and the scourge belong to the second half of the 18th century, and from the archives it was possible to find out that in the village mentioned by the driver, in fact, 150 years ago lived a person with that name. Moreover, it was possible to find a record that this driver one evening saw "a devil's carriage, huge and long as a snake, bursting with fire and smoke." In an incredible way, he found himself inside it and saw people dressed in strange clothes.
In horror, crying to the Lord for salvation, he suddenly woke up lying in a roadside ditch without his cart and horses. Since then, the record said, he was moved by his mind and for the rest of his life told everyone about the "devil's carriage" and was very angry when they laughed at him.
Ancient China boy
In the 90s of the XX century, one of the Hong Kong newspapers told the world an amazing story about the boy Yun Li Chen. It all began with the fact that in 1987 doctors of one of the psychiatric clinics in Hong Kong turned to historians. They were puzzled by a very strange boy who was brought to them by the police. After the examination, the doctors came to the conclusion that he was completely mentally healthy, but Yun Li Chen, that was the name of the child, insisted that he had come from the past … The unusual stories of a strange patient puzzled doctors and made them doubt the state of his mental health.
The doctors' story interested the scientists, and they decided to visit the strange patient just in case. And, as it turned out, not in vain! First of all, they were interested in the clothes of the child, cut from fabric, clearly made by hand, it resembled the samples of clothes found in ancient burials. Yun Li Chen spoke fluently one of the ancient Chinese dialects that a modern child could hardly know. The boy's stories about the distant past contained such details that they simply shocked historians.
Is the boy really an alien from the past? - this question haunted scientists. They just found it hard to believe that the child was somehow incredibly transported from Ancient China to the 20th century. Historian Ying Shao decided to test Li Chen's story with the help of ancient temple books. In some of them, several centuries old, he unexpectedly discovered the names of places and even the names of people reported by a strange boy.
Now Ying Shao had no doubt that he had witnessed a fantastic time travel. His plans were to seriously investigate this case and get from Li Chen as much information as possible about the distant past. Alas, the scientist was in for a bitter disappointment - Yun suddenly disappeared, he seemed to evaporate from a closed chamber, which was under vigilant surveillance.
Frustrated by the sudden disappearance of the boy, Shao resumed studying the ancient chronicles and suddenly in one of the documents he found a mention of Yun Li Chen in them! It was reported that Li Chen disappeared for more than ten years, but then found himself not at all matured and began to tell that he had visited in the distant future, where he saw flying iron birds, carriages moving without horses and houses resting on roofs against the clouds. Of course, no one believed such fantastic stories of the boy, he was considered insane, and three weeks after his return, Li Chen suddenly died.
Time trap for the submarine
It is quite possible that not only people but also other living beings fall into the "traps" of time. This can explain the mysterious appearance of Bigfoot in the most unexpected corners of our planet, as well as the rather numerous sightings of various monsters like Nessie. It turns out that dinosaurs still did not survive to this day, they just sometimes get from the past into the modern world, brought into it by the "wind" of time.
Time jokes badly not only with individuals, it is capable of very impressive objects, researchers of anomalous phenomena argue that the Pentagon has classified a mysterious incident that happened with one of the submarines, information about this unique case was published in 1993 in the American weekly " The News ". The submarine was in the waters of the notorious Bermuda Triangle, when it suddenly disappeared, literally in moments the signal from it was received already from … the Indian Ocean. The incident with the submarine was not limited only to its movement in space over a huge distance, there was also a rather significant travel in time: the submarine's crew literally aged 20 years in tens of seconds!
Despite the fact that the military tried to hide this incident with a submarine under a veil of secrecy, information leaks about this striking incident did occur. For example, here is what was recorded in the report of the submarine commander:
“… Suddenly, at a depth of 200 feet, the boat began to vibrate. The vibration lasted for about a minute and then stopped. The satellite navigation system has determined that we are already at a different point - 300 miles off the east coast of Africa. In 60 seconds, we covered 10 thousand miles. I immediately requested the command's consent to call the nearest port in Kuwait. We all, to our surprise, found ourselves very old."
After interviewing all the participants in this incident by American military specialists and experts, the submariners were sent for examination and treatment to one of the leading medical centers in Germany. The journalists managed to interview one of the doctors of this center. Then, in the 90s, he said: “All crew members continue to age. They have deep wrinkles, gray hair, weakened muscles, decreased vision and hearing. Are these divers who have made a leap in space and time still alive? Or maybe this whole story was just a newspaper duck? So far, there is no information about the further fate of the submariners.
Flight lasting 37 years …
At one time, researchers of anomalous phenomena tried to collect statistical data regarding cases of travel in time. They found that in the period from 1976 to 2001, there were 274 such cases, and often the victims of "holes" in time were aircraft. The most common and most frequent occurrence is when an aircraft suddenly disappears from the radar screen for a moment, and then it turns out that the pilots 'watches, and all passengers' watches, are several minutes behind.
However, even more dire accidents sometimes happen to planes. In 1997, WW News magazine spoke about the mysterious DC-4 plane that landed in Caracas, Venezuela in 1992. This plane was seen by airport officials, although there was no mark on the radar from it. Soon we managed to contact the pilot. In a surprised and even frightened voice, the pilot announced that he was operating charter flight 914 from New York to Miami with 54 passengers on board and was due to land at 9:55 am on June 2, 1955, at the end he asked: "Where are we?"
The pilot's message literally shocked the dispatchers, they had the idea that he either went crazy, or they, in turn, became involuntary participants in some kind of rally. Nevertheless, the dispatchers responded to the pilot's request and informed him that he was above the airport in Caracas, and suggested that he land.
The pilot said nothing, but during the landing, everyone heard his surprised exclamation: “Jimmy! What the hell is this! It became clear to everyone: the surprise of the American pilot was clearly caused by a jet taking off at that time …
The mysterious plane landed safely, its pilot was breathing heavily, and finally everyone heard his words: "Something is wrong here." When he was informed that he had landed on May 21, 1992, the pilot exclaimed, "Oh my God!" The dispatchers tried to calm him down, saying that a ground team was already heading for him. However, when he saw airport employees next to the plane, the pilot shouted: “Do not approach! We're leaving here!"
The ground crew managed to see the amazed faces of the passengers in the windows, the DC-4 pilot opened the window in his cockpit and waved some kind of magazine at them, demanding that they leave the plane. He started the engines, the plane took off and disappeared. Did he manage to get there in due time? Unfortunately, the fate of the aircraft's crew and passengers is unknown, although, undoubtedly, all the data were available to make an attempt to establish this. However, the magazine did not report any investigation into this case. As evidence of this unusual incident at the airport in Caracas, there remained a record of negotiations with DC-4 and a calendar for 1955 that fell out of the magazine that the pilot was waving … It is not difficult to imagine the confusion and horror of the pilot who learned that he flew to the airport in Caracas for 37 years …
“Year after year, unusual manipulations of time are repeated with surprising regularity.
