After 29 years, eyewitnesses decided to tell about the details of the incident. In January 1988, the Knowles family traveled through Australia, deciding to hit the road at night due to the heat. When they crossed the border into South Australia, the family felt that the moon was shining enough for nighttime visibility to allow travel. There were almost no oncoming cars, so this allowed them to observe the beautiful nature of Australia in the night light. Soon, however, not far from the small town of Mundrabilla, the head of the Knowles family noticed an unusual white-yellow glow. The object itself was disc-shaped. For several minutes he hovered over the road, but quickly disappeared from sight, so the man took this moment for a mirage and continued his travels without disturbing the sleeping family members.

Within minutes, the object reappeared on the horizon, this time its flight was very close to Knowles' car, so the driver got scared and screamed. Something luminous began to descend onto the road surface and sat down right in front of the sharply braking car. As the Knowles family members recall, the driver began to go around the luminous object, as a result of which he almost collided with a car that was driving in the oncoming lane. The second driver did not notice any traces of the UFO.

The Nauls turned back, decided not to travel, but soon all family members felt the roof of the car began to rise. There was a sound like the hum of a motor. Soon the car began to rise above the Earth, and black smoke began to break through the ajar windows into the car's interior. A few minutes later the car was thrown to Earth, and the Knowles are shocked by what is happening.

Such a story is far from the only one that can be found on the network about a meeting with representatives of an alien civilization. However, the Knowles description is noteworthy in that it was their data that several other people who turned out to be unwitting witnesses to the UFO flight were able to confirm. In January 1988, a truck driver driving near Madura Pass (Australia) also saw a strange glow in the sky. Another trucker noted that during the same period he observed a glow that flew very low above the ground, but the latter thought it was an airplane. It was in January 1988 that the inhabitants of Australia repeatedly stated that they saw in the sky what visually looked like an alien ship. All eyewitness descriptions were similar to one another.

A spokesman for the Trebilcock Investigation Team, which investigated the incident, said all of the Knowles family members were frightened by what they saw. But Mrs. Knowles, who was sitting closest to the window, where the activity of a certain object was observed, received severe burns. Trebilcock, examining the car of the victims, found traces on the roof, which indicate that it was indeed lifted. Inside the car there were traces of black soot, which the Knowles described. But its origin is still a mystery. After a laboratory study of the composition of soot was carried out, it turned out that it looks like burnt flax with a high chlorine composition. In any case, it could not have been the product of the car, experts said.

At the same time, it was surprising that the speedometer of Knowles' car froze at 200 kilometers per hour, although the Ford sedan itself in 1988 could not go at such a speed. According to the version of the investigation, the additional force "urged on" the car.

After the information appeared on the network, the public began to criticize the Knowles words. According to one of the versions of netizens, eyewitnesses could see the sunset. However, both Knowles and the investigation confirmed that the incident occurred at night. Others claim that the Australians may have seen the lightning. Although an answer was found on this score, the nearest weather station did not record a single lightning over Australia that night. The opinion that Knowles might have noticed the military exercises was also not confirmed.

Professor Peter Schwerdfegger of the University of Adelaide said the Knowles may have witnessed a unique phenomenon when the sky is cleared by electrical charges. In this case, a bunch of energy could "sit" on the Knowles car. However, this does not explain other facts: raising the machine above the ground, as well as soot, is of unknown origin.

The Knowles themselves claim to have seen a UFO that tried to steal them along with the car. And they do not believe in the opinion of Professor Schwerdfegger. Almost 30 years later, this secret still remains a mystery to many. However, in light of the fact that today unexplained objects are increasingly appearing in the sky in various parts of the globe, such stories are becoming more commonplace than an exception. And, as they say, whoever is aware is "armed".
