Robocops and robocopters
It is known that the emirate of Dubai purchases an army of police robots, equips its firefighters with jetpacks, and its streets are patrolled by police drones.
Now they want to supply the police with flying motorcycles - hoverbikes. For the first time this was announced a year ago at the international exhibition of information technologies "Gitex Technology Week" in Dubai - and now the police began to master these devices, as if they came from the saga of "Star Wars".
Flying Police Training
According to CNN, two hoverbike crews are training at Dubai Police. These vehicles are planned to be used in hard-to-reach places to track down suspects and patrol places visited by tourists.
Hoversurf, a California startup company, is supplying the hoverbikes.
You can pre-order your hoverbike for as little as $ 150K. It is clear that in the oil kingdom, the budget is not an issue.

“The Dubai police will let us know in a month or two if they need more machines … If they need 30 or 40, we will provide it,” said Hoversurf director Joseph Segura-Conn.
Is it too early?
Although the hoverbikes look great, their range is very limited, as the flight time is only 10-25 minutes. We still need to make sure that such a futuristic form of transport can really benefit law enforcement agencies in the real world.
