On the Reddit website, users were invited to share the strangest stories that happened to them in life. Some of them turned out to be quite frightening and resemble the plots of horror films or thrillers. Here is a selection of five such stories.

1. "There is so much blood in there"

I lived in Hollywood Hill, this incident happened in the early 80's. At 21:00 I heard a loud knock on the door. I opened the door, and there was a woman hysterically repeating: "There is so much blood in there." She was dressed in clean clothes and looked normal, we let her in. She said that she saw how someone was stabbed.

I called the police, after 10 minutes two uniformed officers arrived. They took the woman away, saying that she was missing, suffering from mental illness and living on the street.

After 30 minutes, I heard another knock on the door. Two other police officers arrived. They were not aware of the two police officers who had come earlier! They recorded the testimony, description of the officers and the woman. They could not understand how some other police officers could have taken her away, because they received this call 40 minutes ago.

2. Child Models Wanted

Promotional video:

When I was 6 years old (28 years ago), my parents took me and my sister to a baseball game. Grandma stayed at home to watch with our little sister. When we returned, my grandmother said that two guys came with cameras and asked if a girl with curly red hair lived here. They have seen her and believe that she will be the perfect model for the commercial they are about to shoot.

When my grandmother replied that she was not at home, they said they would come back later.

My grandmother and mother did not pay much attention to this, but my father thought it was suspicious, and he called the police. As a result, FBI agents came to us and started asking questions to my grandmother and parents. At that time, I ran around the room and showed the agents my toy police helicopter.

It turned out that we were a potential target for a group that specializes in child trafficking. They take a bunch of photos and wait for the child to get tired and start to act up. They then ask the mother to go fetch toys to comfort the child. As soon as the mother leaves, they grab the child and disappear.

The FBI said that if they got my sister, she would have already been sold and shipped out of the country in 24 hours. We were advised to change kindergarten and other places where we go.

I am still frightened by the thought of what would become of her if they could do it. Needless to say, after this incident, our mother began to take great care of us. It was only a few years later that she ventured for the first time to leave us with a nanny.

3. Wait, if you are here, who is there ?

Several years ago, I was supposed to look after my disabled cousin. She can walk, but because of her very severe arthritis, she sometimes needs help. I came to her room in the morning, gave her crutches so that she could walk to the toilet, and cook her breakfast.

One morning I heard the sound of water in the bathroom when I was about to go to see her. On the way to the bathroom, I passed her room. I saw her swinging in a rocking chair in the corner with a blanket over her head.

“Do not leave the water on, you will flood everything,” I said and went to the bath to turn off the water. My cousin stood there and washed her face.

I rushed back to her room, but it was just her blanket, crumpled on the rocking chair. My cousin wanted to know why I hadn't made her bed. In general, after this incident, I decided to move.

4. Dull sound

When I was 7 years old, my mom gave birth to my little sister. I went with my dad to the hospital to meet our new relative. I got bored there and my parents sent me to an ice cream stand next to the hospital.

As I walked to the kiosk, I heard a dull sound, as if something heavy had fallen nearby.

I turned around and saw the body of a man in hospital pajamas. He lay 40-50 centimeters from where I stood. This man jumped off the roof of the hospital after learning that he had cancer in its final stages.

My mom and other people in the maternity ward even saw through the window as he flew by. This guy almost killed me by falling from above. A group of doctors wanted to send me to the ward for examination, but I insisted that first - ice cream, and then - home.

I still clearly remember the sound of a falling body and this person lying not far from me.

5. It's not funny

About two years ago, late at night, I was sitting in my room reading a book, and then I heard two little girls laughing. But it was an unusual laugh, it resembled a laugh in horror films.

I put the book down and listened. After a minute I decided it was just laughter from the street. As I fell asleep, I heard him again. It was 2 am, and I was sure that there could be no small children on the street at that time. That's when I got really scared.

I sat down on the bed and sat, as it seemed to me then, for an eternity, listening. And I heard it again. I jumped out of bed and spent the rest of the night in the living room. The next morning I was sure that ghosts were in my room.

For the next week, I avoided sleeping in my room and spent the nights in the living room, fortunately my relatives did not notice this. I didn’t tell anyone about what I heard because I was afraid that I would be considered crazy. Every time I spent more than an hour in my room, this laughter was heard there.

By the end of the week, I was completely exhausted, I couldn't sleep and I was afraid of my room.

One morning my brother came up to me and asked: "Are you deaf?"

I didn't understand his question. He told me that he had put a small device in my room, something like a small prank machine that could make different sounds. My brother chose the most frightening … laughter of little girls. He wondered why I didn't say anything about it for a whole week.
