Powerful telescopes like the well-known Hubble often provide images of supernova explosions, and although they are extremely beautiful, they are still static images that cannot convey the full splendor of this process. Fortunately, there are enthusiasts who make great videos on the topic, sometimes not using computer simulations, but using a very unconventional approach.

It is worth saying that specialists from NASA and other space agencies have repeatedly made 3D videos that simulate the processes of a supernova explosion, but the French director, artist and designer Thomas Vance took a rather unconventional approach to creating the video. The video below was created by the artist absolutely without using any digital technologies: the camera lens was aimed at an aquarium filled with water, in which glowing fluorescent paints were mixed in a special sequence. Their location, movement and color were based on existing satellite images. To create the soundtrack, Thomas used a set of ambient sounds recorded from various natural sources.
