The virtual archaeologist, hiding under the nickname UFOvni2012, has no doubt: the object, the image of which was transmitted to Earth by the Mars Global Surveyor, is nothing more than a wrecked alien spacecraft. The special video that he made almost inclines to such a thought.
The "spaceship" looks like a stylized heart. It is 190 meters across, partly buried in the ground, and is located in the Medusae Fossae area - the Medusa fault. The area, according to experts, is strange - it does not reflect radar signals. For this it is called the stealth district. By the way, it is possible that such a feature brought the aliens to an accident - the crew of the "heart" lost orientation.
UFOvni2012 points to the very regular and symmetrical contours of the ship and to the "wheelhouse" located on top with portholes.

The virtual archaeologist believes that the ship is, of course, alien, since earthlings do not yet have such. And the Martians themselves are not.
The researcher noticed the trail of the hard landing. And the fact that it somehow survived suggests that the ship appeared on Mars recently. And maybe still "on the move".
A snapshot of the area P {margin-bottom: 0.21cm; } Medusae Fossae was made by the Mars Global Surveyor in 2000. Therefore, the object "lies" there for at least 16 years. But UFOvni2012 was not the first to notice it, but a certain Steve Wingate, a NASA image specialist. I told my colleagues. After that, the picture with the "ship" disappeared from the official website several times. Without explaning the reason.

"Flying saucer" on the edge of the cliff
In the same 2000, the same Mars Global Surveyor took an equally sensational picture. It can be found on the official website of the scientific organization Malin Space Science Systems (MSSS), which is responsible for the operation of the camera installed on board the orbiter. The picture shows a natural "flying saucer".
A disc-shaped object with a diameter of about 100 meters casts a metallic sheen and lies on the edge of a cliff. It clearly stands out from the surrounding landscape for its regular geometric shape and material, which in the image looks darker than the Martian surface. It does not seem at all that the "plate" was part of the landscape - the ridge of dunes.

How old the object is is anyone's guess. As well as trying to guess whose it is. Maybe the "plate" has just sat down, or maybe it has been here for millions of years. Or maybe it’s not a “plate” at all, but a base mounted in a cliff.

The coordinates of the place captured in the picture are known. Higher resolution images can be taken using the HiRISE camera at the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Thanks to her, it is possible to see objects much smaller than this "plate". Recently, for example, the spacecraft Beagle 2 was found, lost on Mars on December 25, 2003 (a probe was found on Mars that disappeared almost 12 years ago). But NASA is in no hurry to figure it out. As if they do not want to "mess with aliens."

Something sat down, but flew away
UFOvni2012 has a strange ditch on its account, which could have been left by a large disc-shaped object. A virtual archaeologist discovered it on the surface of Mars using the Google Mars resource.
The trail is really strange. These really appear when something flying crashes into the soil at a slight angle. The author of the "discovery" believes that the ditch was blown up by an alien "flying saucer", which made a not entirely soft landing. But not so emergency that it does not take off later - like a "heart" with Medusae Fossae. The "dish" took off, so it itself is not there. There is only a semicircular imprint on the edge of the track.
