40,000 years ago, there were creatures on Earth capable of performing complex surgical operations. Japanese paleontologists, having carefully studied the remains of a mammoth found in Yakutia, they found traces of a modern scalpel.

Three years ago, Russian archaeologists found the body of a three-meter mammoth near the Yakut village of Yukagir. In honor of him, the baby was named Yucca. According to scientists, the cub died at the age of ten from the paws of predators.

It is noteworthy that Yucca's body was perfectly preserved, having lain in the permafrost for 39 thousand years. Recently, as part of an international scientific exchange program, the fossil remains were delivered to Japan by a special flight.

Among the numerous wounds left by the claws of predators, the Japanese found three strange incisions made immediately after Yucca's death. Very similar to the work of a professional surgeon. On the skull, in the abdominal region and on the left front leg, there are the finest scars from professional medical experiments, made tens of thousands of years ago.

Found that tiny pieces of muscle tissue were removed from the incisions, as if someone were taking tissue samples. More in the video:
