This message of Herodotus has never been commented on and interpreted in the framework of modern academic science, since this information contradicts the modern scientific paradigm. At one time, the heavenly charts compiled by the Brahmanas indicate significant differences from what modern astronomers expected to see. Calcutta, 180 degrees distant from Baffin Earth in longitude, according to Brahman maps, would be more consistent with the globe, the axis of which would be in the Baffin Earth region, near the current magnetic pole. Latitude changes in other regions west and east of India would be smaller.
It is quite possible that twenty-seven centuries ago, and perhaps thirty-five centuries, the present North Pole was in the Baffin Land area or closer to the Boothia Peninsula on the North American continent.
The sudden death of mammoths in that catastrophe was probably due to suffocation or electrical shock. This was immediately followed by the displacement of Siberian regions to the Arctic, which, most likely, explains the fact that the animal corpses are well preserved.

So Immanuel Velikovsky in 1950 ingeniously divined what the Zetas told us half a century later that the previous location of the North Pole was Greenland.
Now let's continue Velikovsky's reasoning. Let's do a thought experiment and place the North Pole in Greenland. What will we see?
We will see that 80% of the territory of Greenland is occupied by the Greenland ice cit, the second largest ice sheet in the world after the Antarctic. The area of the shield is 1.71 million km; the length from north to south is almost 2.4 thousand km, and the width in the north reaches 1100 km. The average ice thickness is 2135 m. The greatest thickness of the shield exceeds 3000 m.
It must be said here that the ice sheet or ice sheet is a cover glacier with a surface area exceeding 50,000 km; and a thickness exceeding 1000 m. Vast glaciers of slightly smaller size are classified as ice caps. Today there are only two ice sheets: Antarctic and Greenlandic. The thickness of the Greenland Shield ice reaches 3.4 km, the thickness of the Antarctic Shield ice - up to 4.7 km.
So, today there are only two ice sheets of comparable size on Earth - Greenland and Antarctic - and the very presence of such a shield in Greenland indicates that the North Pole was previously located here.
But if the Greenland Ice Sheet is a remnant of a larger ice sheet that was located around the North Pole, then can a similar remnant be found in Antarctica?
It turns out you can. The fact is that, unlike the Greenland ice sheet, the Antarctic ice sheet does not represent a single homogeneous formation, but is divided into the West Antarctic ice sheet and the East Antarctic ice sheet.
The East Antarctic ice sheet is a huge ice “cake” with an area of 10 million km; and a diameter of over 4 thousand km. The ice surface, hidden under a 100-150 m thick layer of snow and firn, forms a huge plateau with an average height of about 3 km and a maximum height in its center of up to 4 km. The average ice thickness in East Antarctica is 2.5 km, and the maximum is almost 4.8 km. The West Antarctic ice sheet has a significantly smaller size: an area of less than 2 million km; the average thickness is only 1.1 km, the surface does not rise above 2 km above sea level. The foundation of this shield over large areas is submerged below the ocean level, its average depth is about 400 m.
What does this mean?
If the present-day North Pole is displaced more than twenty degrees west into Greenland, the South Pole will shift more than twenty degrees east to the eastern edge of Antarctica. In this case, the South Pole will be in the center of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet, which is the remnant of the previous South Pole Ice Sheet. That is, if you draw an imaginary earth axis from Greenland to the eastern edge of Antarctica, then the Greenland and East Antarctic ice sheets will appear around the poles, respectively.
Prior to the previous pole shift, the West Antarctic Shield most likely did not exist at all and West Antarctica was ice-free.
The famous Piri Reis map also speaks of this.
What are our comments on the Piri Reis map?
Since it is known today that in the interval 5 200-1 600. BC. The South Pole was displaced more than twenty degrees east of its current position, then the North Coast of Antarctica, depicted on the surviving fragment of the Piri Reis map, could be ice-free due to its then geographical position.
The highest accuracy of the map, knowledge of the exact dimensions of the Earth, the accuracy of the image of the ice-free coastline of Antarctica, the use of the mathematical apparatus of spherical trigonometry suggests that the original source of the Piri Reis map was compiled by the Anunnaki gods during the period of the 124th ball (5,200-1,600 BC), even before they left the Earth in 1600 BC. during the previous passage of Planet X (Nibiru) inside the solar system.
The next block of evidence that Greenland was the previous location of the North Pole lies in the realm of archaeoastronomy.
Immanuel Velikovsky writes in the book “Worlds in Collision”: “As a result of further research of the same issue, it was established: the ancient temples are mainly oriented to the east, while the oldest of them, built before the seventh century BC, as if on purpose their foundations deviate from the present east, and this orientation can be traced along a number of archaic foundations.
Knowing that the Earth has repeatedly changed the direction of the rising and setting of the Sun, we can explain the changes in the orientation of the foundations by changes in nature. In other words, in the foundations of temples, such as, for example, the temple in Eleusis, we find data on the change in the direction of the earth's axis and the location of the pole, in catastrophes, the temple was destroyed, and each time it was restored, its orientation also changed. (Velikovsky, 1950)
One of the known anomalies of this kind is the orientation anomaly of the "Road of the Dead" and the pyramids of the Sun and Moon in the ancient Mexican city of Teotihuacan. Here is what Andrei Sklyarov writes about this in his work "Inhabited Island Earth":
“One of the great mysteries of Teotihuacan is some of the features of its layout. The construction of the complex took place clearly in accordance with a predetermined plan - along the so-called Road of the Dead, which stretches for a distance of about four kilometers (although some sources indicate a significantly lower value - 2.3 kilometers) and has a width of 40 to 45 meters. It begins even before the Citadel with the pyramid of Quetzalcoatl, passes by the pyramid of the Sun and ends in a large area at the foot of the pyramid of the Moon.
There are many different versions of why and why the builders adhered to such a strict plan, but here only that aspect of it will be important, which is associated with the strange orientation of the Road of the Dead and the entire Teotihuacan complex not strictly to the North Pole, but to a direction deviating from the direction north by 15.5 degrees east.
So many "explanations" of this strange direction are not brought to meet. For example, the following is popular: “… the orientation is not arbitrary, for it is aimed at the point on the western side of the horizon where the sun sets on two astronomically important days - May 19 and July 25 - the only two days of the year when the sun passes through the zenith at noon directly overhead at the latitude of Teotihuacan."
However, like many other “explanations,” this does not stand up to elementary testing.
First, the Road of the Dead is directed towards the north, not the west. But even if we consider that we are talking about a direction perpendicular to the Road of the Dead, then there will still be "second". It is enough to take the simplest astronomical program, and it turns out that although on May 19 and July 25 the Sun is actually at its zenith at noon, it sets as much as 21 degrees north of the western direction, and not at all 15.5 degrees, as follows from the above quote. North of the western direction at the required 15.5 degrees, the Sun sets on completely different days - and the difference with the indicated dates is almost a whole month - but on these days at noon it is significantly removed from the zenith …
And this is one of the still at least somewhat intelligible attempts to explain the strange deviation of the Road of the Dead from the direction to the north. The rest are much worse …
But, if we take into account the indications of the legends about the antediluvian origin of Teotihuacan, then we can express a completely different version - a strange deviation of 15.5 degrees is explained by the fact that it simply did not exist before!.. It arose precisely as a result of a change in the position of the geographical poles during the events of the World Flood. And before the Flood, the Road of the Dead (which, together with the pyramids, already existed by that time!) Was directed strictly to the north. Only to the "old" north … That is, Teotihuacan (at least its most ancient part), as follows from the ancient legends, is literally an antediluvian structure. Antediluvian not in the sense of "primitive", but in relation to the time of its creation."
The inexplicable anomaly in the orientation of the temple complex at Teotihuacan is easily explained from the standpoint of our theory. The fact is that the complex is focused not on the modern North Pole, but on a certain point located on the territory of the island of Greenland. But there, as we now know, the North Pole was in the range 5,200-1,600. BC. This fact gives us the opportunity to date the time of construction of this temple complex.
