A seven-month-old boy, whose head is already called the largest in the world, suffers from congenital hydracephalus. The volume of his head reached 96 cm. The child was born in India.
The boy named Mrityunjay was called by his neighbors a "ghost child" or simply a "giant head".
He recently underwent an operation to reduce the size of his head and now his head volume is 70 cm. During the operation, almost 4 liters of fluid was removed from his head. Soon, he will have another operation, called cranioplasty, to form a new, smaller look of the skull.
The child's parents, Kamalesh Das and Kavita, said that due to their son's ugliness, all neighbors avoided them. 35-year-old Kamalesh works in Calcutta and is confident that after the operations, the attitude of others towards their son will change for the better.
“They will stop calling him various derogatory nicknames like" barka matha "(giant head") or ghost child.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences allocated the bulk of the cost of operations.
