English director Spyros Melaris has admitted that he is the author of the most famous forgery in the history of cinema: a film about an autopsy of an alien at a military base in Roswell.
This footage was published in 1995 and produced the effect of an exploding bomb. A 17-minute black-and-white film captured two pathologists dissecting the body of a strange creature. Producer Ray Santilli, who sold the tape (he received a total of several million dollars from television channels - Ed.), Claimed that it was a surreptitious copy of a secret film filmed in 1947 by the American intelligence services at a military base in Roswell. The body of a deceased alien was allegedly brought there after the disaster of the alleged flying saucer.
The buzz was incredible, because the conspiracy theorists presented this tape as evidence that some world government is hiding the terrible things that are happening on the planet from ordinary people. However, the question immediately arose about the authenticity of the film materials. The Americans stated that no UFOs fell in the vicinity of Roswell. And the secrecy regime is connected with the fact that a flying machine, which was used in the framework of the secret program "Mogul", crashed there. The Americans launched balloons equipped with ultrasensitive microphones into the upper layers of the atmosphere: in this way they tried to catch sound waves from the explosions of Soviet atomic bombs at test ranges at a great distance. The project was successful, but soon technology stepped forward, and it turned outthat seismic detectors and radioactivity sensors provide more accurate and complete information about the nature of the tests. And the Mogul program was quietly closed.
In turn, experts from the forensic medicine service came to the conclusion that the people who gutted the "alien" had never held medical instruments in their hands in their lives and did not have the slightest idea of how an autopsy is performed. For example, professionals never hold surgical scissors with their index and thumb. And the extracted internal organs must be photographed, measured and weighed, which was not done by the wretches from the "secret film".
But all this is circumstantial evidence. Any film must have authors! And they know for sure whether it is a fake or not. And the other day the secret became clear. On the air of one of the British TV channels, 58-year-old director Spyros Melaris admitted that he was the one who shot the very famous video 22 years ago.
Experts came to the conclusion that the people who gutted the "alien" have never held medical instruments in their hands.
Melaris claimed that in 1995 in Cannes he met with Santilli, and he offered to shoot him something like a documentary about aliens.

Why not take part in such an interesting drawing? I never imagined that millions of people around the world would take it at face value!
The budget of the "joke" - 50 thousand dollars, seemed quite nice to Melaris.
To create a "blockbuster", the hoaxer needed three key ingredients. First, scraps from a butcher's shop named Crosby. Secondly, old medical equipment and retro surgical clothes were borrowed from theatrical props. And third, a friend named John Humphreys, who worked on the special effects team on the sci-fi series Doctor Who (which also featured aliens).
The film's budget was only 50 thousand dollars.
Humphries' job was to make the doll. He used his 10-year-old son as a model. The skin was made of latex and stretched over a foam frame. The belly of the "alien" was stuffed with the insides of a cow, the thigh of a lamb played the role of a leg with a deep wound, and the skull was stuffed with the brains of a ram.
“Initially, we wanted to use raspberry jam as a cerebral fluid, but it turned out to be not very photogenic, and we abandoned this idea,” Melaris said.
The scenery was hurriedly put together in a rented apartment in one of the areas in north London. The director's friends and girlfriend played the role of secret agents and pathologists. His brother also took part in the preparation of the filming.
- Hamris and I had a plan: first we shoot a scene about the "alien autopsy", and then we show the public a revealing film about how this deception was done! - explained Spyros Melaris. - However, then it came to us to abandon this plan. It is possible that Spyros Melaris is really tormented by remorse. But there is another simpler human explanation for this coming out. Every director dreams of making a film that will bring him worldwide fame. Ironically, the stellar moment in Spyros's life was this fake production. At that time he was 36 years old, he did not attach much importance to the hoax and believed that all the great achievements were yet to come. However, he was not destined to shoot either "Game of Thrones" or "Pirates of the Caribbean" … On the IMDb website, the world's largest database of cinema, Spyros Melaris is listed as a director and screenwriter of three films: the highly artistic canvas "Beckham Mania" with a budget as much as 25 thousand British pounds. The series "Showcase TV", where Spyros also plays the main role - he plays himself. And tapes called "Three Irish Tenors" - this is the largest work of Melaris, his budget is 150 thousand pounds. The only masterpiece that really shook humanity (especially its crazy part) was filmed by him anonymously. And, probably, the Briton was experiencing the torment of a creator who, by the will of fate, cannot publicly declare himself. Now he's famous.
