Ufologists, classifying aliens by their appearance, divide them into two groups. In one - those that look like people, in the other - that are completely different. Aliens of the insect type, it turns out, can be attributed to both groups.
Humanoid insects stand on their hind legs
Speaking of the insect-like, or insectoid, type of aliens, one always has to bear in mind the extreme vagueness, vagueness, subjectivity of descriptions of their appearance by witnesses. Insectoids are described as looking like huge grasshoppers, praying mantises, ants, and often they are not at all able to find words to describe them. Insect-like aliens in the eyes of people look even more repulsive than reptilians. If human features still appear in the faces of the reptilians, then in the faces of the "insects" there is nothing human.
There are few reports of encounters with insect-like aliens. Most of those who have come across them say that their body is similar to that of a human - with legs, arms and head. If not for this insect-like head, they might be mistaken for humans. From a distance, or at dusk, they seem to be people.
Insectoids possessing a human body are considered anthropomorphic. Their average height is 1.5-2 meters. They are lean, their limbs and fingers are elongated. Skin color is described as black, dark, sometimes brownish green. They have dark bulging eyes. Pincer jaws protrude on the lower part of the face. Hair is most often absent, sometimes black stubble is mentioned.
Anthropomorphic insect-like aliens wear clothes. Sometimes they are seen in spacesuits.
Much less often, insectoids are described as non-anthropomorphic creatures. There is nothing human in the appearance of such aliens. They don't wear clothes. They move on four, six or more limbs. They can stand on their hind legs and use the front ones as hands. The body is shaggy or armor-plated. In 1966, France saw a landing craft in the form of a truncated hexagonal pyramid with portholes on the sides. Around him scurried about a dozen "intelligent insects", moving on six limbs. Some of them surveyed the surrounding area, others, climbing on their hind limbs, fitted some kind of pins similar to antennas to the walls of the ship.

Servants of the "Grays" or the oldest race in space?
Apparently, in the latter case, eyewitnesses witnessed the abduction of a person by non-anthropomorphic insectoids. More often, however, witnesses to abductions or the abducted themselves speak of anthropomorphic insectoids.
The famous American ufologist D. Carpenter, whose archives contain about two dozen reliable evidence of encounters between people and insect-like aliens, believes that they are extremely hostile to people, even cruel. Linda S. of Delaware State, abducted by anthropomorphic insectoids in 1981, recalled under hypnosis the eerie details of the barbaric medical examinations that these creatures had subjected her to.
In many reports, insectoids act as servants of representatives of other cosmic races, most often "gray" ones. Australian Ray Davis in 1995 was abducted by the "Grays" to a certain planet. There he saw the villages-laboratories in which people lived. The villages were guarded by huge, up to two meters at the withers, "intelligent insects", which prevented people from moving from one village to another.
Pointing to the inconsistency in the descriptions of insectoids (to the extent that some eyewitnesses found human features in their ugly faces), Carpenter suggests that eyewitnesses may have dealt with representatives of different insectoid races. This version is supported by the appearance of some insectoids in spacesuits. This means that some of them are harmful to the earth's air.
It is assumed that the race of anthropomorphic insectoids appeared in the Universe earlier than other cosmic races, which is why in some classifications its representatives are called "Ancient".
The rarity of visits by insectoids to the Earth suggests that they are not very interested in people. Perhaps they just don't need human genetic material. In space, they are looking for planets inhabited by creatures that are biologically close to themselves.

Differences in descriptions of insectoids suggest that they may be mutants or biorobots created in alien laboratories.

In 1991, the "gray" aliens took her to a huge building outside the Earth. Most of its inhabitants were humanoid mutants. There were also people who were subjected to medical experiments by the "grays". The "grays" were served by humanoids with a human body and head like a grasshopper. Samantha twice had a chance to see how "gray" surgeons broke off the whole hand of such a "grasshopper" and put the other, after which he began to use it as his own.
In South Africa, during a fire in a building, which was caused by a fireball that fell on it, a humanoid was found, in appearance of the "gray" type - small in stature, with a large naked head and black eyes. Firefighters and other eyewitnesses saw him wandering among the tongues of fire. They tried to extract it from there, but to no avail. Then something flared up in the fire. When the people approached again, the humanoid lay motionless in the dying flame. Under the influence of intense heat, the skin came off him, and now he looked like a large insect, of which only one skeleton was left, and clearly metal. Something else was moving inside the skeleton, flashes flashed. Witnesses were struck by his ugly head with pincers in place of his mouth.
Such a transformation of the "gray" alien into an insect-like robot suggests that artificial insectoids created by someone are hidden under the guise of many "gray" ones.
Recently, the version about the ability of aliens and their aircraft to instant transformations, that is, to change their appearance, has gained popularity. Some researchers even started talking about the fact that UFOs and aliens are entities of the same nature as spirits and ghosts. They live in another dimension and sometimes appear in our world.
There have been disputes about otherworldly entities for many years. The experience accumulated by mankind divides these creatures into good and evil (or into "light" and "dark"). UFOs and aliens are both "dark", malevolent entities. Someone believes that the attitude of the otherworldly essence to people can be judged by its appearance. Allegedly, the uglier and scarier, the angrier. If this is the case, then insect-like aliens belong to the category of very evil creatures.
