Almost every country in the world for Bigfoot has its own nickname. This shows that, despite the fact that irrefutable proof of the existence of this semi-mystical creature was never provided, millions of people around the globe continue to believe in him. Almost every day there are reports of new collisions of people with the mysterious Bigfoot. And sometimes it is not easy at all to distinguish an obvious lie from real facts.
Some consider Bigfoot to be a huge great ape, while others believe that he is the lost link in the chain of human evolution. The Bigfoot, whoever he is, avoids any contact with humans and prefers to settle in dense forests and in the highlands - where it is not at all easy to catch him, and perhaps even impossible.
Himalayas
Elias Hodston, a young Briton who left to live in the Himalayas in 1831, wrote to his relatives in Britain more than once about Bigfoot. In his letters, Elias described in detail a strange creature that he saw several times in the mountains. According to him, he saw a humanoid monkey, 2.5 meters tall with thick short hair all over his body, living somewhere at the foot of the glaciers. Since then, the Yeti in the Himalayas has been met more than once, and even more legends have been collected about him in this area.

In 1958, Ray Wallace, the owner of a construction company in northern California, showed the general public a color film that showed Bigfoot (the American name for Bigfoot) making his way through a thicket. The film rocked the world, but after Wallace's death, it was revealed that the movie and other "hard evidence" had been fabricated by him and his family. Nevertheless, there are people who claim that Bigfoot really lives here.
Tajikistan
In the summer of 1979, the story of the participants of the expedition to capture the Bigfoot from Kiev was published by the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda. Hunters claimed that they managed to find a trail of a mysterious creature in the Hissar mountains of the Pamir-Alai in Tajikistan. The length of his foot was 34 cm. The expedition made a plaster cast of the footprint and collected a huge number of stories from local residents about their encounters with Bigfoot.

Siberia
In the impenetrable Siberian taiga, the yeti is called a forest or hairy person. There, since the middle of the last century, people more and more often come across a shaggy huge primate, extremely dexterously moving through the forests. According to eyewitnesses, the forest man is not aggressive, but he knows how to literally disappear from sight when trying to photograph or catch him.
Abkhazia
There is a legend that in the 19th century a real female Bigfoot lived in one of the villages of Abkhazia. The villagers who named the specimen Zana kept her in a wooden cage. Zana was impressive in size and was all covered with thick wool. Unfortunately, Zana has long been dead, and no one can indicate the exact location of her burial. But, according to the stories of local residents, she successfully interbred with humans and left behind numerous offspring.

According to Texans, Bigfoot has been seen more than once in the Sam Houston National Reserve. On a huge territory, completely covered with dense forests, a whole population of these mysterious creatures can really easily hide. Tourists are attracted by the opportunity to legally hunt Bigfoot. It may be cruel, but, nevertheless, not a single hunt has been successful yet, so most likely this is just a publicity stunt to attract tourists.
India
In the jungles of India, mande barunga, the local name for Bigfoot, has also been seen many times. They live in hard-to-reach places in the mountains, and descend into the valleys only in winter in search of food. In 2003, the forester Deepu Marak stumbled upon a 3-meter creature covered with black wool for 3 days in a row. At their last meeting, Marak managed to collect a sample of barung wool and send it for analysis. British geneticists said that the sample is very similar to the yeti hair sample taken by E. Hillary, a British climber who climbed Mount Everest.
Vancouver
In 2007, Robert Wilson, who lives on Vancouver Island, announced his meeting with a creature that resembled a caveman. According to his description, the mysterious creature was the size of a bear, had long hair and features reminiscent of the ancient Neanderthals. After Wilson's announcement, it has been suggested that the Yeti, which has always been considered a huge ape, may in fact be a prehistoric man.
Yamal
Traces of the Bigfoot in Yamal are regularly discovered by local hunters every few years. Most of them are in the area between three villages: Gorki, Azovy and Muzhi. Yam merabad (“a man measuring the ground with steps” from the Nenets) leaves huge footprints 50-60 cm long, and the width of his steps is up to 2 meters.
Oregon
On Animal Planet, the hosts of Finding Bigfoot consider Oregon's Salmon-Huckleberry Reserve as one of Bigfoot's most likely habitats.
